The Senior Vice President (SVP), UK Operations Oversight and Strategic Projects is a senior executive responsible for leading Ameresco’s UK business and driving strategic initiatives that accelerate growth across strategic projects. This role provides direct oversight of the UK Country Manager and ensures alignment between local execution and global strategy. The SVP will spearhead high-impact initiatives focused on expanding Ameresco’s infrastructure portfolio, optimizing project execution, enhancing sales performance, and building a high-performing team to support aggressive EBITDA and market share growth. A key focus of the role is advancing global project finance practices and strategies.
Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership to the UK Country Manager and local team
Drive growth in energy infrastructure: efficiency, renewables, grid modernization
Lead sales strategy and execution for large-scale projects
Ensure UK operations meet financial, operational, and compliance goals
Foster a high-performance, innovative, and accountable culture
Recruit and develop top talent to support growth
Advance project finance practices locally and globally
Oversee capital structuring and financial modeling
Secure financing through banks, investors, and institutions
Mitigate risk and ensure financial sustainability across UK projects
Lead strategic initiatives: market entry, investments, energy transition
Accelerate EBITDA growth and market share through disciplined execution
Serve as liaison to executives, investors, regulators, and partners
Support board reporting and strategic planning
Uphold governance, compliance, and ethical standards
Identify opportunities for innovation and strategic partnerships
Evolve UK offerings with infrastructure and energy-as-a-service solutions
Develop and implement global strategic initiatives related to project financing, including:
Establishing scalable financing frameworks for multi-country infrastructure deployment
Coordinating with global finance teams to align capital strategy across regions
Structuring innovative financial instruments to support energy transition projects
Building strategic relationships with international lenders, development banks, and equity partners
Supporting cross-border financial compliance and risk mitigation
Willingness and ability to travel regularly both domestically and internationally
Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field required
MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred
Minimum 15 years of senior leadership experience in energy, infrastructure, or related sectors
Proven track record in project finance, strategic planning, and operational leadership
Experience driving sales and execution of large-scale infrastructure projects
Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing teams
Familiarity with UK regulatory, financial, and operational frameworks
Strategic mindset with strong financial and commercial acumen
Exceptional leadership and people development capabilities
Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to lead through change and drive transformation
