Sr. Revenue and Royalty Accounting Analyst

The Sr. Revenue Accountant Analyst will have solid accounting and business acumen along with strong work ethic. This role requires collaboration with individuals in various teams thus requiring strong interpersonal and communication skills. Viable candidates will need to be self-starter who can work independently and take initiative along with analytic and detail-oriented skill sets.

Functions and Responsibilities 

  • Oil and Gas Revenue recording associated with Gas/NGL’s/Condi production

  • Working with Land Department associated with ownership of wells

  • Working with Production Department associated with well-ensuring production aligns

  • Work with Marketing team ensuring all prices/fees associated with wells are properly mapped/processed, impacting both WI & RI landowners along with impact to P&L accounts based on IFRS/GAAP accounting principles.

  • Monthly Revenue accruals

  • Knowledgeable of COPAS Guidelines associated with both Production and Revenue accounting

  • Research and prepare data related to Landowners inquiries

  • Provide variance explanations with respect to income statement revenues e.g. royalties

  • Assist in responding to internal and external audits requests for documentation and explanations.

  • Follow all internal controls related to revenue royalty accounting.

  • Prepare ad-hoc operational and financial reports as requested.

  • Prepare manual vouchers as required for uploading into systems. 

  • Provide back-up data requested by Legal associated with audit claims and lawsuits.

  • Assist with unclaimed property audit.

  

Requirements

  • Legal authorization to work in the US for any US employer

  • 5+ years of Production, Revenue, Royalty experience in the Oil & Gas industry 

  • Knowledgeable of Best Business Practice related to revenue accounting processes

  • Proficiency with advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, data extraction)

  • Experience with SAP and SAP PRA Accounting systems preferred.

  • Accounting or Business-related degree
