The Role

The sales support provided to the Global sales teams is vitally important to the smooth running of the AspenTech business. The Sr Proposal Development Analyst is part of the Global Sales Operations function that provides best-in-class support to global field sales and inside sales, with the primary responsibility of administering and issuing services proposals to the regional sales teams of NORAM and LATAM. The Sr Proposal Development Analyst can be viewed as an extension of the sales teams helping them to achieve their sales objectives each quarter for the services space.

This position is based out of the Houston office. The Sr Proposal Development Analyst is part of a Global Deal Management team, responsible for providing support during the quote to contract process. Developing strong relationships with peers and business partners is critical. The ability to work in a diverse, fast-paced environment is a priority.

The Sr Proposal Development Analyst role involves editing/creating, processing, coordinating, and issuing proposals. The position requires close interaction with our sales account managers and solution consultants as well as our Professional Services organization, specifically delivery directors, global practice directors and project managers. Related activities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Your Impact

  • Coordinate the administration of the Authorization and Approvals policy (A&A policy) involving analysis of pricing and services structure elements, coordinating the approval process by obtaining approvals per policy, and ensuring compliance to both process and policy.
  • Coordinate proposal issuance and activities.
  • Work with RFPs and meeting related proposal and bid tender deadlines.
  • Chase services proposal approvers and help secure parallel approvals for time critical deadlines.
  • Track and archive proposals for the NORAM and LATAM regions and for other regions on an ad hoc basis.
  • Document approvals for audit and SOX-compliance.
  • Compile proposals (involves gathering information, proofreading, editing, verifying costs and formatting).
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the Sales, Consulting and Service personnel; liaison with these individuals as necessary to develop proposals which match their business opportunities.
  • Attend meetings and prepare proposal reports.
  • Assist with maintenance of proposal templates; facilitate proposal template change requests if required.
  • Undertake special projects as assigned.
  • One-to-one training of sales account managers on the sales support process to ensure sales teams are aware of the information required when submitting their services quote requests.
  • Manage global workload with proposal specialist team members to optimize speed of delivery and responsiveness to the sales team using a global follow-the-sun approach.

  • Able to enforce established processes and standards to sales teams.

Preferred:

  • Experience working on commercial contracts, commercial/technical proposals, order processing, sales forecasting systems, and/or ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of Oracle and Salesforce.com.
  • Working knowledge of Excel.
  • Language requirements: English (required), second language skills would be advantageous but are not essential.
