Sr. Project Manager, Analytics & Automation

Vanguard’s Internal Audit & SOX department is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Technology Advisory and Analytics & Automation team. In this strategic, high-impact role, you’ll lead initiatives that advance data, automation, and audit transformation objectives, ensuring alignment with Internal Audit’s strategy and executive priorities. Partnering closely with leadership, you’ll provide the delivery discipline, governance, and structure needed to drive seamless project execution—from initial concept through successful change adoption—while enabling consistent progress across multiple workstreams.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead multiple projects or major workstreams, ensuring structured planning, execution and monitoring of deliverables within defined scope, budget and timelines.

  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure project objectives align with overall company strategy and industry trends, driving long-term business impact.

  • Build strong relationships with internal and external partners, effectively communicating key project updates, resolving roadblocks and influencing decision-making.

  • Proactively identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies and implement contingency plans to ensure minimal disruption to business operations.

  • Supports resource planning and ensures optimal utilization of workforce, tools and financial resources for successful project execution.

  • Track key project metrics, prepare detailed reports and provide leadership with data-driven insights for informed decision-making.

  • Provide expert recommendations on critical business challenges, ensuring timely resolution of escalated project issues.

  • Lead organizational change management initiatives, training teams on new processes and ensuring seamless adoption of business strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience, with 5 Years of strong background in business project management, stakeholder engagement and process optimization.

  • Bachelor’s degree (BBA / B.Com / BMS) or MBA (Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field).

  • PMP certification strongly encouraged; Agile, Lean, or Six Sigma credentials preferred. Experience managing projects or programs within corporate, technology, or audit environments.

  • Skilled in using project management and reporting tools including Jira, Smartsheet, Power BI, Microsoft Project, SharePoint, and Confluence.

  • Solid understanding of data analytics, automation technologies, and the software development life cycle, including data visualization, scripting, RPA, and cloud platforms.

  • Demonstrates strong business and operational acumen with the ability to quickly grasp how functions operate and deliver value.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and solving complex problems with clear analysis and actionable solutions.

  • Exceptional communicator and relationship builder, adept at aligning senior stakeholders and leading cross-functional initiatives with executive presence.

  • Proven ability to implement strategy and drive business outcomes through fast-paced, high-impact workstreams, with a focus on prioritization and adaptability.
