The Role:
The Product Owner is responsible for managing the product, setting targets and priorities as well as participating in squad development, go-to-market activities and driving the wider team.. This role is a product visionary, customer ambassador and team leader. The product owner performs ongoing market research, reviews customer satisfaction, works with development teams and measures product success.
Role Responsibilities:
- Responsible for planning and execution of product lines throughout their lifecycle including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements
- Proven experience in leading or contributing to digital transformation initiatives across enterprise environments
- Develops product vision and synchronizes with tribe leads/product owners responsible for related products
- Define product requirements making sure they are complete, integral and consistent and the sole source of requirements for the squad; develop and manage a product roadmap with the discipline of consistent sized features on the roadmap
- Work closely with upper management to develop long term product development and sales strategies for the company.
- Understand, articulate, and capture customer market problems and then translate them into requirements for product development teams
- Accept sprint results at demonstration and contribute to squad product development via building of squads backlog in terms of user stories, prioritizing items to achieve business goals, and continuously keeping the backlog up to date
- Interact and synchronize with other product owners/managers to implement cross-squad activities and to smooth communication between cross-squads
- Working with Product Marketing, provide sales and business development teams with marketing strategy and guidance for selling, promoting products, and meeting customer needs.
- Monitor and analyze market trends and competitors to make sure product lines stay competitive and fulfill customer needs.
- Key contributor in coordinating quote and proposal activities through business development and contracts to meet customer needs.
- Create the core value proposition, revenue models and projections
- Educates sales and other teams with unique marketing/selling messages
- Develops investment plans for each product so that products will be up to date and meet all market driven and customer requirements.
About You:
- Four-year college degree, or equivalent, in product line, business or program leadership fields
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience working as a product manager
- Ability to communicate effectively in multiple business areas (e.g. marketing, sales, finance, operations, technology).
- Must have experience in launching products B2B markets and evolving these into viable company revenue streams
- Demonstrated experience in creating product specifications, gathering customer requirements, performing competitive analysis and/or market research.
