Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) sector is looking for a Sr. Principal Structural Liaison Engineer (T04) with Material Review Board (MRB) experience to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located onsite at our St. Augustine, FL production facility with a 4x10 work schedule (10-hour workdays Monday - Thursday with every Friday off; Tuesday - Friday may also be an option).

In this role, under the guidance and supervision of higher-level engineers, you will develop, design and analyze MRB repair dispositions for discrepancies in aircraft primary and secondary structure and mechanical systems resulting from manufacturing, design, or tooling errors.

Responsibilities include:

  • Participating in corrective action investigations of engineering caused non-conformances and generate any required corrective engineering documentation including Engineering Orders and Direct Drawing Changes

  • Performing basic structural analysis to substantiate repair dispositions with concurrence from the stress department

  • Interfacing with Quality, Material, and Manufacturing departments when developing repair solutions or corrective action

Basic Qualifications:

  • Sr. Principal Engineer: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of related experience; OR a Master of Science (MS) degree in a STEM discipline with 6 years of experience

  • Experience with the MRB process

  • Knowledge of or experience with aircraft technology and airframe primary and secondary structures

  • Experience with 3-D CAD Design tools (i.e., Siemens NX, Unigraphics, Catia V4/V5)

  • Able to perform basic structural analysis to substantiate repairs/designs

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

  • Experience with electrical repairs

  • Familiarity with Teamcenter product lifecycle and model management system

  • Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution System (MES)

  • Current Secret clearance

  • Mechanical systems and troubleshooting experience.

  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel, flight control, landing gear, propulsion systems.

  • Flight line experience and ability to determine safety of flight.

  • E-2 aircraft experience

  • MRB signature authority

Primary Level Salary Range: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
