About the role:

As the Senior Platform Architect, you will be responsible for designing and delivering modern cloud platform engineering solutions, with a strong emphasis on consulting, project delivery oversight, and pre-sales support. You will act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, collaborating with clients, partners, and internal business units to ensure engagements meet both technical and business objectives. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with strategic consulting, contributing to solution design, client advisement, and the development of best practices.

What You'll do:

  • Design, develop, and oversee the implementation of consulting and hands-on service offerings for platform engineering.
  • Serve as a cloud-native technical consultant, assessing client business needs and recommending scalable, secure solutions across the cloud and platform engineering ecosystem.
  • Align solution architectures with industry standards and best practices, working closely with cross-functional engineering and consulting teams.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Account Management to ensure successful delivery of client projects and identify opportunities for continued partnership and service expansion.
  • Draw upon your consulting experience to establish long-term relationships with client stakeholders and decision-makers, positioning yourself as a trusted technical advisor.
  • Contribute to the development of internal methodologies and consulting frameworks that enhance service delivery and operational maturity.
  • Develop and deliver proof of concepts (POCs) that demonstrate the value of proposed solutions and drive client adoption.
  • Support business development efforts by creating level-of-effort estimates, technical proposals, and statements of work (SOWs).
  • Provide thought leadership in cloud-native technologies, DevOps, and platform engineering, contributing to internal enablement and market differentiation.
  • Stay current with advancements in platform engineering, automation, and observability, and integrate emerging technologies into solution strategies.
  • Maintain enterprise use cases, success stories, and reference architectures to support go-to-market initiatives and consulting offerings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven consulting background, with hands-on expertise in cloud-native, DevOps, and platform engineering
  • Deep experience with Kubernetes (K8s)and related technologies including EKS, AKS, GKE, and OpenShift.
  • Familiarity with DevOps and DevSecOps tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab, and Harness.
  • Experience with observability solutions and OpenTelemetry (OTEL).
  • Knowledge of developer portals such as BackStage or comparable platforms.
  • Understanding of Kubernetes operators and tools like Cilium and Crossplane.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect and/or DevOps Engineer certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience implementing and supporting cloud compute, networking, and storage services.
  • Experience with cloud operations, including performance monitoring and management using native and third-party tools.
  • Strong scripting proficiency in Python, Ruby, or GoLang.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at prioritizing tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent consultative communication skills— capable of understanding client needs, facilitating technical discussions, and guiding solution decisions collaboratively.
  • Experience producing detailed architecture, testing, and as-built documentation.
  • Comfortable managing multiple, concurrent projects while maintaining delivery excellence in a client-facing consulting capacity.
Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base salary.

$200,000$250,000 USD
