Summary

The Senior Manager, Inventory Control is responsible for overseeing and optimizing inventory management operations, including stockroom, and receiving functions. This role leads strategic initiatives to improve inventory and warehouse workflows, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and alignment with company goals. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, deep expertise in inventory control, and a track record of driving continuous improvement.

Position Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily stockroom operations: receiving, storage, inventory tracking, and material distribution

  • Manage receiving to ensure timely, accurate intake of goods and adherence to quality and documentation standards

  • Develop and enforce inventory control procedures to reduce discrepancies, waste, and maintain optimal stock levels

  • Analyze key inventory metrics (e.g., turnover, shrinkage, cycle counts) to identify and address inefficiencies

  • Lead cross-functional efforts to enhance inventory and warehouse processes and systems

  • Maintain accurate inventory records in Oracle or equivalent ERP system

  • Supervise, train, and mentor staff to ensure high performance and compliance with company policies

  • Collaborate with procurement, production, and logistics teams to align inventory with operational needs

  • Investigate inventory variances, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant stockroom

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 10 years direct experience in field of expertise; including 5 years of experience in inventory control or supply chain management, with a demonstrated progression of responsibilities

  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant people management experience​

  • Strong knowledge of inventory control principles and best practices.

  • Proficiency in using Oracle ERP systems or similar inventory management software.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing teams.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies

  • Experience in the aerospace or defense industry

  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or similar methodologies

  • APICS certification or training

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Proven adaptability in fast-paced, evolving environments

  • Strategic thinker who anticipates change and fosters team alignment

  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a focus on shared success

  • Ownership-driven, continuously learning, and improvement-focused

Physical Demands

  • Ability to work in an office and manufacturing environment (Constant)

  • Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Constant)

  • Occasionally may be required to travel within the Continental U.S. 

The salary range for this role is:

$108,275 - $153,615
