Title: Sr. Field Service Technician – Hawaii

Position Summary:
Perform preventative maintenance, start-ups, and repairs on generators; including automatic transfer switches, diesel, and gaseous engines. Promote safe and efficient operation of duties. Travel required.
Key Accountabilities:
- Service, troubleshoot, repair and overhaul Kinetic Power Pack (KPP) systems and their associated electronic and mechanical systems
- Lead on-site work, maintain active list of project timelines and prioritize job tasks
- Operate KPP systems, including 480v to 13,800v electric plants
- Provide on call 24/7 site support for assistance with alarms and failures
- Assist with commissioning of KPP systems
- Inspect parts to assure conformance to specification
- Perform field inspections according to maintenance schedules
- Maintain site CMMS data with provided tablet
- Order replacement parts and maintain site spare part inventory
- Source local vendors required for third party activities/assistance
- Provide operating assistance to the customer
- Provide technical assistance to other service personnel
- Travel and assist other site technicians when assistance is required
- Remain technically current
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Analyze technical data
- Promotes a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct
- Performs special projects as required
Basic Requirements:
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time
- Two years mechanical or technical trade school and 5 years field service with mechanical or electrical troubleshooting experience; or 7 years field service experience.
- Ability to travel 5-10% on short notice international and domestic
- Ability to lift, push, pull weights in the 20-60 lb. range
- Ability to bend down, stand over, lay down and complete work tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent knowledge of electronics and ability to read blueprints and electronic schematics
- Excellent knowledge in the use of mechanical and electric hand tools
- Excellent knowledge in the use of measurement and testing tools for mechanical and electrical systems
- Strong knowledge in technical language and engineering terminology
- Strong knowledge in the principles of electronics, physics, hydraulics and pneumatics
- Strong knowledge in the physical properties of fuels, coolants, lubricants and oils
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Good organizational skills
- Good experience with PC and MS Office Suite
- Experience with large scale UPS/KPP systems
- Experience with electric plant operations and troubleshooting
- Experience with the replacement of bearings and vibration analysis
- Experience in rigging of weights up to 2 ton
- Experience in report and service letter writing
