This Sr. Federal and State Tax Analyst t will assist in the preparation of various tax returns as well as taking part in related research projects.
Responsibilities
Assist in preparing Federal & State tax return.
Assist in Federal & State tax partnership return compliance.
Support quarterly tax provisions.
Assist in analyzing Federal & State tax law changes and the impact on Repsol.
Support various areas of tax planning as needed.
Research various tax topics and prepare memorandums.
Consult with Management to develop positions which satisfy reasonable tax planning objectives.
Qualifications
The legal authorization to work in the US for any US employer.
A minimum of a Bachelor’s in Accounting.
5+ years of tax experience (public accounting or oil & gas experience a plus).
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities.
Flexibility to take on new tasks with a teamwork mentality.
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA or Master’s in Tax, CPA a plus.
Knowledge of Oil & Gas.
Knowledge/experience with Alaska State worldwide apportionment and Alaska production tax
Previous experience with State tax audits.
Previous experience with writing tax opinions and memos
Systems knowledge (SAP, One source tax software)
Knowledge of working with Bloomberg Tax research or similar tool.
