Broadridge is hiring. Our team is seeking a Senior Director of Software Engineering experienced in Java development and AWS to lead our development teams and deliver software solutions.  This is a great opportunity for applicants that are proficient in Java full stack development, with experience is large scale data, PostgreSQL, APIs, and AWS development/deployment.  The primary responsibility of this role will be to lead Agile development teams as they deliver secure and scalable solutions of the best quality.  You will work within an Agile setting to grow and transform our applications related to our core data centric reporting applications.

Work Mode: We are made up of high performing teams that meet in person to learn and collaborate as needed.  This role is considered hybrid, which means you’ll be coming into the Newark or Long Island office at least 2 days a week and given the flexibility to work remotely the rest of the time.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead multiple Agile teams and oversee the development and delivery of our critical application.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers to promote best practices and continuous learning.
  • Ensure the delivery of secure, resilient, and scalable code in a timely matter.
  • Define solutions and provide estimates on enhancement requests and future roadmap items.
  • Be a technology advocate, seeking opportunities where technology can be utilized to solve business problems.
  • Involvement in all phases of the software development lifecycle from requirements gathering, solutioning, implementation, testing, deploying, supporting.
  • Work closely with the product/business organization to review product roadmaps, analyze requirements, provide estimates, ensure business benefit, and support the business process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, or equivalent education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience leading Agile development teams
  • 8+ years of professional experience in Java development, with strong knowledge of Spring and AWS services.
  • Expert proficiency in application of analysis/design engineering functions.
  • Expertise with Spring Boot Framework 
  • Skilled in use of AWS technologies for building, deploying applications and operating applications.
  • Proficiency with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (Jenkins) Experience with build tools (Gradle, Maven, ,etc.)
  • Must have experience with Apache Kafka, spl AWS MSK
  • Must have experience working with PostgreSQL, writing queries
  • Data modeling is preferred.
  • Expert proficiency in application of non-functional software qualities such as resiliency, maintainability, etc.
  • Experience with implementing integration solutions with Microservices, RESTful Web Services and Web APIs
  • Knowledge of Restful APIs
  • Experience in containerization with applications deployed on Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Proven experience in the design, development, testing and integration of high complex software solutions.
  • Proven experience leveraging DevOps and lean development principles like CI/CD with tools such as Git, Jenkins, Nexus etc.

Salary Range: 180,000.00 – 205,000.00 USD annual
