How You Will Make An Impact
The Sr. Director, Commercial – Power will serve as the strategic and operational leader responsible for driving market expansion, accelerating the commercial pipeline, and positioning Atlas Power for long-term growth. This role will oversee the Power Sales Team—currently led by Gary Lancaster—and will establish a proactive and targeted business development strategy aligned with the division’s priorities.
The Sr. Director will partner cross-functionally to ensure commercial readiness, strengthen major account strategies, and capture share in high-value segments. This is a highly visible leadership role accountable for designing and executing a forward-looking growth agenda for Power.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development Strategy & Growth
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with Power’s long-term commercial objectives.
- Identify new market opportunities, emerging segments, and growth pathways to expand Atlas’s Power presence.
- Lead proactive targeting efforts, including segmentation analysis, competitive positioning, and whitespace identification.
Sales Leadership & Pipeline Management
- Management and strategy oversight of the Power Sales Team
- Drive pipeline acceleration through improved forecasting, account planning, and sales process discipline.
- Establish KPIs for sales productivity, pipeline quality, and conversion performance.
Major Account Ownership
- Set strategy for key and national accounts to increase revenue, strengthen relationships, and win long-term contracts.
- Partner closely with operations, engineering, and supply chain to ensure alignment on customer delivery expectations and commercial commitments.
Cross-Functional Commercial Enablement
- Coordinate closely with Finance, Operations, Marketing, Legal, and HR to ensure readiness for customer engagements, product launches, and contract execution.
- Lead cross-functional reviews to align on pricing, delivery capability, competitive intelligence, and customer solutions.
Leadership & Organizational Impact
- Serve as a senior leader within Power, influencing strategy, decision-making, and organizational planning.
- Build a high-performance business development culture rooted in accountability, customer obsession, and strategic rigor.
- Represent the Power business at industry events, conferences, and executive-level customer meetings.
Qualifications Required
- 10+ years in business development, commercial leadership, or sales leadership roles within industrial, power, energy, or related sectors.
- Proven track record of leading sales teams and driving pipeline and revenue growth.
- Experience managing major accounts and complex customer portfolios.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical capability, and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Ability to influence at senior levels and navigate complex, rapidly evolving environments.
Preferred
- Background in power systems, industrial services, or large-scale engineered solutions.
- Experience in high-growth, fast-paced, or PE-backed companies.
- MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
