As the EMEA Business Operations Lead, you are responsible for driving operational excellence across the EMEA region, driving excellence in customer engagement, analytics and insight generation, operational and business processes, strategic planning, leadership alignment and governance activities. This role is critical in optimizing regional and cluster-level operations as the organization grows its footprint and prepares to launch several new rare disease assets in the coming 5 years. This role will work extremely closely with the VP Commercial Operations, VP Medical Affairs, VP Market Access & Pricing, ED Supply Chain, Director EMEA Finance and Snr Dir and EMEA Head of HR.
Flex: This role will typically require onsite work 2-3 days each week, or more depending on business needs. In many locations, the business will set certain days each week that Flex employees are required to be onsite.
1. Business Reviews and Strategic planning - In close collaboration with Finance and EMEA commercial leadership, design and execute Quarterly Business Reviews and country deep dives, yearly budgeting and LRP and monthly revenue reviews.
2. Governance and Leadership Support to the SVP Region Head – Organize and lead monthly EMEA leadership team (LT) meetings and GM/Functional Forums, including agenda preparation, documentation, and follow-ups. Facilitate and lead these discussions.
3. Field and Launch Excellence Training – Manage field force excellence training hub for the EMEA region - develop and implement training programs to enhance field force effectiveness (medical and commercial field teams). Design and execute strategies to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of field medical & commercial teams, focusing on performance metrics, training, and resource allocation and Go To Market model optimization.
4. Business Analytics Management and Insight Generation - Optimize country launch reporting processes, analyzing product launch performance and providing insights to support GMs. Lead Business Analytics & Reporting capabilities within the region, coordinating with Global and Regional product and Local country leadership supporting insight generation and decision-making. Further, lead the creation and tracking of cross functional (Commercial, Medical, Market Access) Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and liaise appropriately with the cross functional team to create an integrated performance picture.
5. Digital initiatives and Data Management- Supervise digital initiatives and data management activities ensuring data integrity, optimization, accessibility, and compliance with regional and global standards. Support the deployment, management and usages of regional CRM and other digital tools in collaboration with IT.
6. Operational Effectiveness and strategic projects
a. Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to ensure seamless product availability across the region
b. Oversee collaboration with EAP and Named Patient Supply Service provider/s to ensure seamless operation including oversight on service performance, financials management, governance.
c. Lead operational readiness for pipeline portfolio (including gene therapy) for the region d. Drive operational excellence across EMEA by identifying and leading projects to improve processes and operational effectiveness at the Region and in the local clusters (e.g. legal entity assessments projects, wholesaler selection and establishment)
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Life Sciences, or a related field
• Advanced degree such as MBA or MSc.
Experience
• 15+ years in the biotech, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industry, with significant experience leading cross functional projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in rare disease, specialty markets commercialization and operations with deep understanding of the cross functional roles. Experience in launch excellence and field force raining is a plus.
• Proven track record in managing complex regional operations, including governance processes and strategic planning.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment and deliver results.
