About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

Do you thrive at the intersection of business needs and complex, cross-domain data ecosystems? Do you have the vision to unify data activation across a multi-cloud landscape and transform strategic goals into elegant, scalable data architectures?

Join our Enterprise Data Architecture team as a Senior Data Architect supporting the Unified Activation Services (UAS) domain, and shape the future of data interoperability and activation across Salesforce.

Unified Activation Services is a critical capability within Salesforce’s data ecosystem, enabling standardized, governed, and secure data flows across applications and domains. The Sr. Data Architect for UAS will provide architectural leadership to standardize activation patterns, ensure consistent schemas, drive interoperability, and enforce compliance with enterprise standards. This role connects the dots across domains, repurposing learnings from UAS implementations and ensuring tight integration and alignment across the enterprise.Beyond technical enablement, this role is directly accountable for driving business impact by powering revenue-generating activation use cases across our GTM engine - Marketing, Sales, and Service. By enabling reusable, AI-ready activation patterns and zero-copy interoperability, UAS ensures timely, trusted data activation that accelerates pipeline growth, improves customer engagement, increases win-rates, enhances service productivity, and unlocks measurable value from every customer touchpoint.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead architecture for Unified Activation Services (UAS): Define and maintain the reference architecture, data flow patterns, and canonical schemas enabling zero-copy, domain-driven interoperability across Salesforce applications.

  • Standardize and scale data activation: Establish frameworks for reusable data activation pipelines (batch, streaming, API-based), ensuring consistency, compliance, and reuse across domains.

  • Drive Data Mesh principles: Embed data mesh practices - domain ownership, data contracts, product thinking - within UAS, enabling decentralized innovation while maintaining global consistency.

  • Enable AI/ML-ready data ecosystems: Design data architectures that accelerate AI/ML enablement and consumption - ensuring discoverable, high-quality, semantically enriched, and contextually governed data assets.

  • Wear the Customer Zero hat: Act as an early adopter of Salesforce platforms and solutions within UAS, applying and validating architectural patterns in real-world scenarios. Work closely with product architecture teams to share feedback, lessons learned, and insights from UAS implementations, ensuring that reference architectures and activation patterns are practical, scalable, and aligned across domains.

  • Partner closely with the UAS product and engineering teams to deliver on the overall roadmap, ensuring architectural alignment and successful execution of initiatives defined by the UAS product team.

  • Champion enterprise governance and compliance: Enforce data standards, lineage, and policy controls while reducing tech debt and ensuring architectural guardrails are followed.

  • Bridge across domains: Collaborate with cross domain architects, engineering, and business partners across Marketing, Sales, Service, and Platform to ensure seamless activation and interoperability.

  • Leverage enterprise tools and building blocks: Drive adoption of approved technologies (i.e. Salesforce Data Cloud, MuleSoft, Tableau, etc.) to standardize data activation and delivery.

  • Mentor and influence: Partner with other domain architects to share best practices, patterns, and frameworks for unified data activation and governance.

What You Must Have to Be Successful

  • 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise architecture roles, with demonstrated success in designing and implementing large-scale data systems.

  • Strong expertise in data modeling, data activation, canonical schemas, and integration architectures across cloud and SaaS environments.

  • Proven software and data engineering skills, including designing and managing large-scale, real-time pipelines to support business-critical applications.

  • Experience working with Customer Data Platform (CDP) systems is required, with a focus on real-time data ingestion, transformation, and activation.

  • Deep understanding of data governance, metadata management, and interoperability standards.

  • Proven ability to define reference architectures and reusable patterns that accelerate delivery and reduce technical debt.

  • Experience collaborating across domains to drive data standardization and activation frameworks.

  • Deep expertise with AI/ML and semantic technologies (ontologies, knowledge graphs, data fabric, data mesh concepts) is a must have.

  • Proficiency in Salesforce technologies, including Flows, Apex, Heroku, and experience with Salesforce Data Cloud implementations.

  • Experience working with Salesforce Data360/Datacloud and Marketing Applications is a huge plus.

  • Deep functional knowledge of the Marketing & Sales domain is a plus.

  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and influence skills - able to translate complex technical ideas into clear business value.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
