The Opportunity
This position Senior Business Analyst (BA) works out of our Charlottesville, VA office. This role is within our Informatics Business unit in Abbott Rapid Diagnostics. We’re empowering smarter medical and economic decision-making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. Every day, more than 10 million tests are run on Abbott’s diagnostics instruments, providing lab results for millions of people.
What You’ll Work On
The Sr. BA plays a critical role on the Agile Development Team acting in a dual role as Business Analyst and Scrum Master. The person hired in this role will be actively engaged with the Team by representing; advocating and shepherding the many customer voices; ensuring that the products we deliver meet the diverse and competing needs of our customers (internal and external); understanding and identifying opportunities, flows and issues with discussions and interactions within the entire project team.
They will also be responsible for facilitating discussions between Product Owner, Stakeholders, and the Development Team to ensure the full scope of requirements has been defined and balanced with an overall technical understanding of the solution. In addition, this role will require excellent communication and facilitation skills and the ability to work interdependently with the team and effectively challenge the status quo to reach successful business outcomes.
As the Sr. Business Analyst:
Define and document software requirements
Gather product feedback from internal stakeholders and external customers
Produce elements of systems design, including data migration rules, business rules, wireframes, high fidelity mockups, or other detailed deliverables
Facilitates and participates in risk analysis, including failure mode and effects analysis
Author design transfer documentation to be consumed by internal and external customers
Contributes to the improvement and maintenance of the Quality Management System with focus on requirements in the design and development process
Mentors and trains junior business analysts
As the ScrumMaster part of the role:
Guide and coach cross-functional teams to excellence
Facilitate team meetings and scrum ceremonies
Protect the team from distractions and interruptions
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with five years of related experience or Associates Degree with six or more equivalent years of related experience or high school diploma with eight or more equivalent years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
5+ Year of Agile experience
Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)
Experience using Agile Tools to manage backlog and track iterations
Technical writing
Strong communication, both written and verbal
Strong attention to detail
Able to think strategically and independently
Demonstrated ability to drive a team towards deadlines
Demonstrated people management experience; ability to coach, mentor, and grow junior talent
Software Environment Preferred

The base pay for this position is
$75,300.00 – $150,700.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
