This is an office-based position and for the effective performance of this role, the duties and responsibilities must be carried out onsite.
Primary duties will include assisting Wealth Strategists to develop prospects and organize calling activities; works closely with sales support team to research and uncover potential prospects; prepares materials for client meetings and new business presentations; maintains sales pipeline for office, responsible for reviewing new business documentation prepared by sales associates; assists in generating fee opportunities. Owns marketing for the office including all prospect and client events. Supports Market President in day-to-day activities and also shares in the responsibilities with other associates for managing various aspects of the local office including onboarding of new employees and facility management
Obtains strong understanding and knowledge on investment management, fiduciary and financial planning matters.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Works with Wealth Strategists to maintain active prospect files and
reminders to initiate calls for making forward progress.
2. Maintains the sales pipeline in salesforce ensuring the accuracy of all opportunities
3. Responds to individual prospects/clients' inquiries and respond
through written correspondence or via telephone.
4. Research prospects through Factiva and Lexus Nexis. Prepares
materials (i.e. letters, agreements, marketing updates) for prospect, center of influence (COI) or client meetings and presentations.
5. Compiles reports for prospects, COI or client meetings and
presentations.
6. Makes necessary arrangements for prospect, COI or client meetings
involving travel, audio-visual aides, seminar/lunch/dinner reservations,
meetings, seminars, etc.
7. Performs special projects to identify new sales opportunities and/or client service issues.
8. Works with prospect database to implement proactive DRIP campaign to convert leads into prospects. Set up files on new business prospects.
9. Develops and owns the marketing strategy and budget. Coordinates with the national marketing team to execute on the strategy
10. Organizes and leads all marketing initiatives including social media efforts for the Ohio markets
11. Leads the planning and execution of all client and prospect events
12. Owns the Client Advisory Board program including coordinating the quarterly meetings
13. Reviews and organizes all asset/family information and trust
documents to support the sales process. Reviews all correspondence and
accompanying documentation from prospects and attorneys to
assimilate information about new business opportunity.
14. Submits account documents to the legal area and external attorneys
to ensure adherence to established guidelines and to obtain missing information, correct documents, clarify information, and resolve problem situations.
15. Develop in-depth knowledge of wealth management services including personal trusts, living trusts, wills, investment management, security custody, financial consulting, estate and tax planning.
16. Shares in the various office management responsibilities with other associates
17. Supports the Ohio Market President in day-to-day activities
The successful candidate will possess:
High attention to detail and task oriented.
Able to effectively communicate with clients across broad personalities and to effectively navigate across organizational boundaries
Analytical, organizational and sales skills are required to proactively manage the sales process.
Interactive skills are required to understand prospect needs and respond with the appropriate solutions.
Basic knowledge of personal financial planning, trust and investment products and services are required to perform primary duties.
Knowledge of computer applications (Salesforce, i.e.) is required to generate sales reports and databases.
Organizational and personal computer skills are necessary to prepare materials for prospect and COI meetings and presentations.
Knowledge of fiduciary products and services (e.g. personal trusts, living trusts, wills, investment management, security custody, financial consulting, estate planning), including fee structures, documentation, policies and procedures usually acquired through work-related instruction or work experience is required to respond to account related matters and various sales situations.
Knowledge of the duties performed within the various departments and divisions of the bank acquired through work experience is required to direct inquiries and requests for client-related information.
Undergraduate Degree or equivalent experience is preferred
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
1-3 years of trust sales or trust relationship management experience
Career Path: The goal is to provide the Associate Wealth Strategist with skills required to transition into a full producing Wealth Strategist role
Salary Range:
$70,490 - 119,890 USD
Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
