We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon. As a Sr. Associate, Packaging Engineering supporting the MTO ASPEX Team in Fort Worth, TX, a typical day will include:
Perform specialized technical tasks related to packaging design and development.
Create new packaging or improve existing ones, testing and selecting materials based on durability and cost-effectiveness
Support prototype development and design manufacturing processes.
Oversee the installation, operation, and maintenance of packaging machinery to ensure optimal performance.
Design quality assurance/control processes and procedures into packaging design, ensuring compliance with technical and regulatory standards.
Make decisions within the scope of assigned tasks, requiring advanced technical knowledge and analytical skills.
Adhere to Good Practice (GxP) regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Maintain accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control.
Complete all required training and meet individual job requirements, contributing to the overall compliance of the organization.
Commit to continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.
Follow all Alcon and government safety regulations and promote positive safety behaviors.
Review new package designs for adherence to Alcon, environmental and safety standards.
Conducts engineering studies and investigations and prepares reports and progress updates for company leadership.
Exhibits strong focus on cost savings project management, capital project creation, development and implementation of best practices, and continuous process improvement.
Coordinate tooling availability, new design implementation, and facility testing with production to ensure engineering activities have minimized impact to production and supply chain.
Component tooling and design troubleshooting and documentation of corrections and change control activities.
Act as engineering and process technical lead for key plant package component projects.
Manage multiple midlevel projects concurrently,prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends and recommending actions.
Complete financial justification and ROI calculations and work with production and procurement to complete capacity analysis and cost justification scenarios.
Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Design and implement modifications to the existing component designs that will improve operational and cost efficiencies.
Execute process improvement plans using a variety of Quality and Continuous Process Improvement tools.
Generate and revise standard operating procedures.
Analyze customer complaints and field failures.
Implement corrective and preventative actions to improve package performance and manufacturing’s operational efficiencies.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)
The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
