Sr. Application Engineer

China, Shanghai Full time

  • Typical Duties:

  • Senior Product Application Engineer partners and supports CBU to understand the OE customer's technology, current challenge and product requirements.
  • As the technical expert, the Product Application Engineer is one technical liaison between the customer and Clarios; as well as the coordinator and contributor in leading the development of technical elements of RFQ's and proposals.
  • Manage customer technical relationship as first contact to customers' engineering departments.
  • Manage execution and communications between Clarios functional activities to assure timely resolution to customer engineering needs and concerns.
  • Understand the customer’s strategy of EE Architecture and AUTONOMY to promote the low voltage batteries.
  • Provide technical and application expertise to specific customers on existing and future products. Act as a go-to person for sales reps needing product knowledge and technical support for the assigned customers/geography.
  • Develop and maintain positive and proactive relationships with customer decision-makers to ensure that Clarios products and services are selected and specified by customers to the maximum possible extent.
  • Analyze marketplace information in area of assigned accountabilities to assist in defining future product sales levels, potential customer and competitor threats.
  • Develop and deliver customized demonstrations; prepare for technical communications.
  • Support identifying internal product portfolio opportunities with short and midterm outlook.
  • Be responsible for successful execution of product engineering and customer projects.
  • Other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS or equivalent in engineering or related technical field. MS preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering development and product launch in manufacturing industry and preferably in automotive.
  • Experience in engineering management or leadership role is preferred.
  • Experience in automotive of Electronic and Electrical Architecture, AUTONOMY and Battery management system (BMS) preferred.
  • Strong communication skill, ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Ability in critical thinking, collaborating teamwork and cross-functional leadership.
  • Great command of Chinese and English, being able to read and comprehend the professional materials in both languages.
  • Travel expectation is ~25% to Clarios plant and customers as necessary.
