Job Description

We are seeking an experienced SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) Consultant with 5-7+ years of SAP and 5+ years of PM experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have in-depth expertise in configuring, implementing, and supporting SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) solutions.

Lead the implementation of the SAP PM module as part of the SAP S/4HANA on RISE project. This role involves working closely with internal teams and business stakeholders to optimize maintenance processes, improve asset management, and ensure seamless integration with other SAP modules.

Conduct workshops and meetings to gather detailed business requirements specific to plant maintenance in the EPC industry. Analyse and map the requirements to SAP PM functionalities, identifying gaps and proposing solutions.

Design and configure the SAP PM module to support maintenance planning, execution, and reporting. Develop and implement custom solutions where standard SAP functionalities do not meet business needs. Ensure the system design supports compliance with industry regulations and standards.

Ensure robust integration between SAP PM and other SAP modules (e.g., MM, SD, FICO, PS) as well as third-party systems. Coordinate data migration activities, ensuring accurate and complete transfer of legacy maintenance data.

Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT). Identify and resolve defects and issues, ensuring the solution meets quality and performance standards.

Develop and deliver training programs for end-users, focusing on system functionalities and best practices. Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting assistance during the hyper care phase and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

  • SAP PM Configuration & Support:
  • Configure and implement SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) module to meet the business requirements related to equipment, preventive maintenance, work orders, and asset management.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into system configurations.
  • Support SAP PM module integration with other SAP modules like MM (Materials Management), SD (Sales and Distribution), and FI/CO (Financial Accounting/Controlling).
  • Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and provide ongoing support for SAP PM solutions.
  • Maintenance Process Optimization:
  • Analyze and optimize maintenance processes, including work order management, preventive maintenance planning, equipment management, and maintenance notifications.
  • Recommend and implement best practices for plant maintenance to improve asset performance and reduce downtime.
  • Monitor system performance and resolve issues to ensure the smooth operation of maintenance processes.
  • User Training & Documentation:
    • Conduct end-user training on SAP Plant Maintenance functionalities and best practices.
    • Develop training materials, user manuals, and documentation to support users in utilizing the SAP PM system efficiently.
    • Provide on-demand support and guidance to end users, addressing issues and queries related to SAP PM processes.
  • Project Implementation & Rollouts:
    • Lead or support the implementation of SAP PM in various projects, including new implementations, upgrades, and enhancements.
    • Collaborate with the project team to ensure the timely and successful rollout of SAP PM functionality.
    • Conduct data migration activities, including equipment and asset data transfer, and ensure that data is accurately captured.
  • Asset and Maintenance Reporting:
    • Set up and support SAP PM reporting for asset management, work order tracking, maintenance costs, and performance metrics.
    • Ensure that maintenance data is accurately tracked and that reports meet the business needs for decision-making.
    • Design and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) for asset management and maintenance operations.
  • Compliance & Safety Standards:
    • Ensure SAP PM processes align with industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
    • Maintain system configuration to meet compliance standards for preventive maintenance, asset reliability, and safety regulations.
    • Support the management of maintenance-related compliance documentation.
  • Experience: Minimum of 9 years of experience in SAP PM implementation and support, preferably within the EPC industry. Proven experience with SAP S/4HANA and RISE with SAP implementations. Strong understanding of EPC project lifecycles and associated plant maintenance processes.

  • Skills: Expertise in SAP PM module configuration and customization. Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.

  • Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in a related field. Experience with SAP Activate methodology. Familiarity with other SAP modules (e.g., MM, SD, FICO, PS) and their integration with SAP PM. Knowledge of EPC industry-specific best practices and regulatory requirements.

  • Work Environment: The role may involve working outside of standard business hours to meet project deadlines.
