Data Center Support Duties:

Installations, Moves, Adds, and Changes (IMACS):
Hands and Eyes Support (for Network devices, Storage, Rack and stack devices):
• Asset Management: Verify make, model, serial number, asset tag, and location of decommissioning hardware from requester’s list.
• Hardware decommissioning CR approval must be verified
• Un-rack hardware and accessories from the rack
• Ensure device data, and patching data, are updated/deleted in their databases/tools
• Ensure the decom request is properly closed out
• Receiving RMA hardware or spare parts and replacing them or coordinating with respective hardware vendors to break fix the hardware issues
• Power cycling the hardware etc
• Other tasks as required by Client.
• Installing Patch cables as clients request, and routing properly and label them
• Connections included patching of server/appliance into appropriate patch panel, patching on patch fields, and/or SDF to switches.
• Escorting and assisting Hardware vendor / service provider etc. (Incident / break-fix task)
• Power Cycling/managing power tasks
• Providing local hands-on support for scheduled power maintenance or shutdown activities using the defined Data Center protocol document for planned shutdowns. Also providing local onsite support in case of any unplanned emergency outage scenario.
