PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of the position are:

  • Liaise frequently with the Global Sustainability Business Management team and ESG Technology Team to represent Governance on matters such as understanding RIIM model changes, assessing new data sources under consideration, establishing priorities for the ESG Technology group, and generally maintaining open lines of communication. Ensure governance indicators in systems used for Responsible Investing purposes are fit-for-purpose, undertaking data quality initiatives as needed
  • Develop and maintain model and process documentation used to communicate with internal business partners. Ensure business records are kept current and accurate
  • From the governance operational commentary (e.g. engagement notes and voting workflow) created by other colleagues in the team, produce concise summaries of governance issues at individual corporate issuers for inclusion in the RIIM model and downstream deliverables
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Investments and Investment Compliance to manage and respond to queries sent to the team mailbox related to Good Governance Test screening requests. Manage the quarterly Good Governance Test review process and ensure the output is shared with Investment Compliance in a timely fashion
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of policy, processes, and governance practices that improve efficiency and reduce risk across ESG tools and systems, including through the use of artificial intelligence
  • Conduct specialized research and data collection on either an ad hoc or routine basis, as needed by the Governance Team. This may be to support team business processes, requests from our investors or client solutions development
  • Support the production of governance-related regulatory reporting. Maintain a shortlist of voting and engagement case studies, and undertake other actions as required as project manager of the Stewardship Report
  • Provide support for ad hoc projects as requested. This may include – over time – some voting and engagement responsibilities
