The following position is to join our Corporate team:

The CT Powerhouse, Cogen and Energy Team is responsible for the efficient generation of electricity, steam and hot water for several CT sites. Furthermore the team oversees all site energy uses and assessments, and drives the implementation of best management practices for efficient energy utilization. This includes interfacing with our internal customers, various stakeholders, engineers/architects, and construction contractors.  This is a great opportunity to Co-Op with a team oriented organization that drives successful results. 

What You Will Do

As a Powerhouse Engineering Coop, you will work alongside experienced energy experts and project engineers to gain experience in various aspects of industrial facilities projects including writing request for proposal documents, engineering/design, scheduling and coordination, safety, field oversight, compliance, quality, and project turnover. The position will require walking around RTX Connecticut campuses and accessing several levels in buildings using stairs and ladders. Many buildings are not climate controlled and can be hot or cold depending weather conditions.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Candidates must be currently pursuing a college degree in construction management, environmental science, or engineering field e.g. chemical, mechanical, electrical, or environmental engineering and must not graduate prior May 2026.
  • 1+ years of experience working with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Candidate must be a motivated student with sincere interest in the energy efficiency for building and production equipment. The successful candidate will have demonstrated academic success as well as involvement in extracurricular activities and groups.   
  • The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills and have the ability to adapt to changing demands and priorities in an industrial environment.
  • Preferred basic knowledge of the following: Microsoft Project software, AutoCad software and basic proficiency in reading and understanding MEP type drawings, CMMS software (SAP preferred).

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
