Job Description

The Specialist Process Engineer's main duties are to eliminate wastefulness in the end-to-end process from manufacturing through completion of installations. This position is required to Analize, Propose, Develop and realize process/tooling improvements that can be made for the business to be more cost competitive, improve lead times of equipment to site and the installation process.

Essential Functions (Job Duties and Responsibilities)

  • Initiate, plan, execute, and control improvement projects to accomplish operations strategic goals. Develop ideal work layouts to support an end to end, cross-functional, lean and efficient manufacturing to installation process.
  • Analyze existing processes and operations through conducting frequent inquiries within the field installation base and initiate proposals on cost justified improvements and develop financial justifications for process/tool improvements.
  • Manage problem solving activities within engineering, manufacturing, logistics and Installations using trending data from Omnitracker, ProTrack, Ozark, etc.
  • Advice, convince, influence, and support internal stakeholders like manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure benefits (reducing lead time, increasing quality) are realized during installations.
  • Develop “new” tools and processes with other teams (Internal/external) to operate faster, more and act as lead auditor on multiple functions and teams.
  • Work independent within functional policies and actively contribute to knowledge sharing efforts with the installation scope.
  • Set up, drive and analyze time studies on the install process (EQ focus) to use during and as feedback improving the Equipment design.
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures / efficient methods for installations.
  • Create and maintain technical training publications and installation benchmarking documentation.
  • Play a key role in the implementation of new processes, equipment, and products.
  • Take ownership and function as the SME on new technology and act as the trainer during the roll out process.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering or closely related.
  • Experience in the On-site execution and working in field.
  • 3+ years of progressive experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of manufacturing industry processes, ideally in the material handling or automotive industry

Knowledge-Skills-Abilities (Competencies)

  • AutoCAD or other modeling/drafting experience
  • Organizations skills with the ability to work with minimum direction and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to develop positive working relationships with other teams.
  • Possessed of effective communication skills and ability
  • Strong computer skills in order to analyze, organize and present data and information using.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite
  • Self-starter who takes an initiative-taking approach with good decision-making capabilities
  • Experience in manufacturing / operations environment
  • Ability to develop / create Instructional Training Documents (technical writing skills)
  • Ability spot/visualize and adapt 3rd party off the shelf technologies and integrated them with existing.
  • Proficient in conducting large scale time studies.
  • Able to initiate, plan, direct, and execute process improvement projects.
