Job Summary

Our Total Rewards team is currently searching for a Compensation Policy Specialist to join their team. In this role, you would be providing specialized services regarding employee compensation, pay equity initiatives, business processes, systems, standards, and performance metrics. You would also be tasked with developing communication strategies to promote employee value proposition and understanding of compensation programs.
The Specialist also supports implementing the new, or amended, provisions of collective agreements and Management compensation programs (including annual compensation programs) in a timely and accurate fashion.

In this role you will:
- Work within the employee compensation philosophy frameworks, analyze, market benchmark and develop appropriate design options and evaluate new or revised compensation plan proposals.
- Be responsible for research and analysis for all aspects of the various compensation plans
- Be responsible for building financial modeling and budgeting tools to be used for financial forecasting and reporting.
- Analyze changes and/or costings made to current programs, contracts and collective agreements.
- Provide sound interpretation, advice, input and guidance on various compensation policies, guidelines and procedures and identify and recommend amendments to policies and administrative procedures.
- Design and implement communications strategies and materials to explain new and/or changes to compensation plans or policies.
- Deliver high level escalation of employee issues from the HR Employee Centre, including ensuring that the terms of the service agreements are met.
- Assist other functions with project plan costs as part of ongoing financial monitoring and annual financial planning and determine employees' costs.
- Develop compensation recommendations for incumbents in management positions upon movement, hires etc.
- Monitor applicable legislation and regulations e.g., Canada Labour Code, Employment Insurance, Provincial Health, Pay Equity and to ensure NAV CANADA’s compliance.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in finance, Human Resources, or related field or equivalent combination of related experience and education.
- Designations such as CCP, CHRP, CHRL or equivalents are an asset.
- 1-3 years of HR (compensation/payroll/HRIS) experience.
- Experience with continuous improvement and change initiatives.
- Knowledge of general Human Resources practices and policies.
- High proficiency in Excel and HR systems
- Expertise with project and change management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle and process mapping.

Working Conditions:
- This position is a hybrid position with a minimum – 3 days per week on site
- Occasional Travel required.
