About the location:

Steps from the Prophet’s Mosque, our Hotel will offer luxury accommodation for the city’s 1.5 million annual visitors. The new-build hotel will be located at the heart of Madinah and steps from one of the most historic and significant sites in the region: Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, also known as the Prophet’s Mosque. Madinah is also home to the Quba Mosque, which is regarded as the oldest mosque in the world.

About the Role 

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join the culinary team at Four Seasons Hotel Madinah. Reporting to the Restaurant Chef, you will be responsible for assisting in the management and operation of the kitchen, ensuring the production of high-quality food, maintaining kitchen efficiency, and leading the kitchen team. Your role will be essential in ensuring that the culinary experience meets Four Seasons’ high standards while contributing to the team’s growth and success. 

What You Will Do 

  • Assist the Restaurant Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation are maintained. 

  • Supervise and lead kitchen staff, ensuring smooth operation and efficient kitchen workflow, particularly during peak service periods. 

  • Monitor food preparation and production processes, ensuring adherence to standardized recipes, portion control, and quality checks. 

  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is in good working order, organizing maintenance and repairs as needed. 

  • Assist in menu planning and the development of new dishes and recipes that align with Four Seasons’ culinary vision and seasonal offerings. 

  • Manage inventory, ordering, and receiving of food supplies, ensuring cost control and minimizing waste. 

  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to health, safety, and sanitation standards at all times. 

  • Ensure kitchen staff is trained and motivated, fostering a positive and productive work environment. 

  • Handle food-related guest requests and special dietary requirements, ensuring personalized attention to guest preferences. 

  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of food during service, ensuring all dishes are prepared and delivered to the highest standard. 

  • Assist in managing kitchen labor costs, food costs, and ensuring profitability while maintaining high-quality food production. 

What You Bring 

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or Hotel & Restaurant Management from an accredited institution. 

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef, Chef de Partie, or in a similar culinary leadership role, preferably within a luxury hotel or fine dining setting. 

  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety, and kitchen operations. 

  • Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire, train, and motivate kitchen staff. 

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks during high-pressure service periods. 

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact with kitchen staff, other departments, and guests. 

  • Proficiency in English. 

  • Suitable candidates must be eligible to work in Saudi Arabia.
