Summary:


 

In this role, you will design and guide scalable, secure, and intelligent solutions across a portfolio of products that support Vizient’s GPO operations, analytics platforms, and market-facing applications. You will provide architectural leadership across engineering, data, and product teams to drive innovation, improve interoperability, and ensure solutions meet enterprise standards for performance, reliability, and compliance. You will act as a trusted advisor, shaping technical strategy and fostering a culture of collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop solution architectures that align business objectives with technical strategy across Spend Management systems.
  • Partner with product, engineering, and data teams to define integration patterns, application frameworks, and data management standards.
  • Promote architectural best practices that drive scalability, observability, and performance within cloud and data platforms.
  • Ensure security, compliance, and governance are foundational to all solution designs and implementations.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to engineering leadership, providing architectural guidance and technical oversight.
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies to enhance analytics, automation, and AI-driven capabilities.
  • Communicate architectural decisions, trade-offs, and rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent and cohesive architectural direction across enterprise systems.
  • Mentor engineering teams to strengthen technical acumen, architectural thinking, and solution delivery excellence.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and engineering best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Advance degree is a plus.
  • 7 or more years of relevant experience required.
  • Proven experience in solution or enterprise architecture within large-scale data or SaaS environments.
  • Hands-on expertise with Azure, Databricks, and modern data architectures highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with master data management (MDM) platforms, data lakes, integration frameworks, and analytics ecosystems.
  • Strong understanding of security and compliance frameworks, including HIPAA, HITRUST, and SOC 2 highly preferred.
  • Experience designing and implementing agentic workflows with emphasis on governance, accuracy, and security best practices highly preferred.
  • Strong background with integration middleware platforms such as Boomi or MuleSoft highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML enablement, automation, and observability tooling preferred.
  • Healthcare supply chain or related industry experience highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and influence skills across technical and business teams.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $135,200.00 to $236,600.00.
