How You Will Contribute:

  • Design, implement, and test secure software features for embedded systems and cloud-based applications.
  • Conduct security reviews and threat modeling for software architectures to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle using Agile methodologies.
  • Perform security vulnerability assessments, debugging, and remediation across software components, including the Linux Kernel.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate security testing and ensure continuous security integration.
  • Research and contribute to the development of innovative security technologies and approaches.
  • Provide technical guidance and foster collaboration on security-related matters across teams.

The Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in software security engineering with a solid understanding of security principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in C++/C/Python programming languages, Bash scripting for embedded systems development.
  • Experience with Linux Kernel development and its security aspects.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing architecture and its security implications.
  • Familiarity with cryptographic algorithms/concepts, secure boot, disk encryption, TPM's, integrity and attestation.
  • Demonstrated expertise with CI/CD pipelines and integrating security into automated workflows.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies for software development.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience with the Yocto project.
  • Proficiency with container technologies such as Docker, including security hardening methodologies.
  • Knowledge of full-stack development principles.
  • Hands-on experience with debugging tools and techniques for resolving security vulnerabilities.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to deliver clear and concise technical presentations.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

Pay Range:

$84,600.00 - $135,200

Competitive salary commensurate with experience.

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
