We’re looking for a Software Incubation Lead to build the intuitive, reliable software that frontline workers can depend on. In this role, you’ll shape product strategy and roadmaps for solutions that run on rugged mobile devices, wearables, kiosks, and connected IoT systems, turning real-world customer challenges into elegant, mission-critical software.
Work side‑by‑side with engineers, designers, field teams, and customers to prioritize what truly moves the needle. If you’re energized by rapid learning cycles, real-world constraints, and measurable outcomes, and you enjoy turning complexity into dependable, delightful products, this is the role to own.
The Frontline Worker (FLW) market has been identified as a significant growth opportunity for GN. The ongoing pursuit of efficiency in organisations and the digitalisation of frontline work is creating a need for better collaboration and productivity tools such as AI. We fundamentally believe voice will be the primary interface for these tools, and we know that GN is uniquely positioned to deliver truly innovative solutions to this exciting growth market. This role is central to that innovation journey. This is a key position within an incubation-style vertical focused on delivering innovative audio and collaboration solutions for frontline workers.
About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Software Incubation Lead adept at crafting impactful software solutions for users. You will be part of the Product Management Team and a core contributor to defining product strategy and roadmap for solutions used in constrained, mission-critical environments — mobile/rugged devices, wearables, kiosks, or integrated IoT systems — and be responsible for developing customer value, adoption, and measurable business outcomes through execution and field-informed decisions.
What you’ll do
Define the roadmap for FLW software together with the Head of Product
Translate customer and field insights into well-scoped features and product bets; write clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Work day‑to‑day with Sales, Engineering, and UX to deliver high‑quality features
Partner with Sales, Solutions Engineering, and Customer Success to shape pilots, onboarding, and scale deployments.
Manage stakeholder communications with customers, channel partners, and internal leadership; run pilots and collect field feedback to contribute to roadmap decisions.
Together with the help of the Product Marketing team, turn the roadmap into customer value and commercial growth.
Lead post‑launch adoption programs (training flows, in‑app guidance, documentation) and iterate quickly based on real‑world usage.
Help shape voice‑first and AI‑enabled collaboration and productivity features for frontline workers, using field validation and close partnership with applied‑AI and hardware teams.
Key responsibilities
Identify short-term and long-term roadmap candidates
Deliver assigned roadmap milestones on time and with measurable impact
Increase product adoption and retention across frontline deployments through focused execution and adoption programs.
Improve operational metrics for customers (e.g., task completion time, error rates, compliance rates) by shipping user‑centred improvements.
Reduce support tickets and deployment friction through improved UX, configuration, and monitoring.
What we think you'll need to thrive in the role
4+ years of product management experience shipping enterprise or B2B software
Experience with mobile/embedded
Deep domain knowledge of frontline worker environments (manufacturing, warehouse, retail, healthcare, transport, and logistics, etc.).
Practical experience with product discovery, user research, and running customer pilots in field environments.
Deep knowledge of mobile operating systems such as Android and iOS along with their applications, integration of devices like MDM/UEM, Bluetooth, NFC, and barcode scanners, and backend services
Skilled at collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams in Agile/Scrum environments using tools like Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, and Figma. Data-driven mindset with experience using analytics and telemetry tools (e.g., Amplitude, Looker, Power BI, Firebase) to define and measure KPIs.
Stamina – product making is tough, usually all the way through to launch
High level of motivation and aspiration, and the ability to inspire the people around you to deliver notable results.
Proficient communication skills: able to translate complex technical constraints into business value for non‑technical stakeholders.
Experience with the following will set you apart from the rest:
hardware-integrated software (wearables, rugged devices, scanners), IoT platforms, edge‑compute solutions, etc.
Product ops tools: ADO DevOps, Confluence, Figma, Miro.
Building solutions for frontline, mobile, or mission-critical environments (e.g., retail, logistics, healthcare)
Core competencies
Deep customer empathy and field‑facing instincts
Systems thinking - able to connect device, cloud, and user/admin experience layers.
Effective prioritization and decision-making in challenging situations
Collaboration across globally distributed teams
Rapid experimentation and iterative delivery
Risk‑aware product thinking (safety, privacy, compliance)
Enterprise insight: an understanding of the IT admin’s world as well as the end user’s.
