What You Will Do
The Technical Services Software Engineer will report to the Technical Services Supervisor and be responsible for using various tools to complete software customization projects and implement Spectrum ADP solutions. Assignments will include developing custom Crystal Reports and dashboards, scripting database objects (tables, views, procedures and functions), writing fundamental SQL queries, programming ProIV Screens and business data analysis. This position will encompass all aspects of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to installation. A successful Technical Services Software Engineer must be action-oriented, capable of independently solving technical problems and able to communicate clearly and effectively to both technical and business audiences. This role involves managing multiple projects while achieving a high revenue rate and staying within budget. This position can be customer-facing at times and will work closely with the Technical Services Business Analyst and Manager to ensure project timelines are met.
● Development of a programming solution and delivery according to individual customer specifications.
● Delivers custom reports (i.e., Crystal Reports), database customization projects, software integrations and data projects, including migrations and corrections (SQL scripts, SQL modification statements and other tools as needed). Executes the tests necessary to ensure that customizations meet scope requirements prior to installation.
● Proactively communicates the progress of projects to the Business Analyst and internal stakeholders, utilizing effective written and verbal communication skills.
What Skills & Experience You Should Bring
Required:
● Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, computer science, software engineering, accounting, or related.
● 1+ years of custom programming experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
● Fundamental SQL knowledge, including queries, triggers and stored procedures.
● Familiarity with SQL or Access databases.
● Familiarity with two or more programming languages such as Visual Basic, Java, Python, JavaScript,C++ or C#.
● Strong customer success orientation and commitment to ensuring timely, quality solutions to customer issues.
Preferred
● Basic familiarity with business accounting principles (e.g. payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchase orders).
● Experience using construction accounting software and payroll. Spectrum ERP Software is preferred.
● Knowledge of the construction industry and construction accounting.
● Familiarity with Crystal Reports.
● Familiarity with XML
● Familiarity with ProIV development skills
● Prior consulting experience with billable revenue expectations.
Working Conditions
● Projects may require after-hours or weekend work, as well as remote access.
● High stress levels may occur due to the time-sensitive and critical nature of the technical projects for customers.
● The ability to sit and work at a keyboard for extended periods of time and communicate with team members by phone, computer, and video teleconferencing is required.

This is an in-office position. You will work on-site from one of our state-of-the-art offices located in Portland, OR, or Westminster, CO.

This compensation range is based on a full time schedule.
