You will be working with our Development teams on Developing and Securing Java Spring Boot microservice applications deployed to our AWS and Azure Platforms.
About the Role
As a Java Software Engineer you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and securing complex cloud-native microservices applications using modern technologies and best practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in developing Java microservices, and will demonstrate their understanding of DevSecOps and cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS. They will be familiar with the Secure Software Development Life Cycle, and they will have experience building and deploying scalable, resilient, secure and maintainable microservices architectures.
Experience and Education
4+ years of Software Engineering experience
B.Sc. Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain microservice applications and CI/CD pipelines
Implement DevSecOps strategy in existing and new projects. Developing security controls to harden CI/CD pipelines, and continuously improve application security posture.
Fix issues in existing systems using industry standard coding practices.
Work closely with other development and SRE team members to understand product requirements and translate them into software designs.
Troubleshoot and debug issues in complex microservices environments.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical documentation
Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
Resolve complex technical issues as necessary.
Requirements
Strong understanding of the Secure Software Development Life-cycle
Strong proficiency with DevOps and Continuous Integration/Delivery tools: GitHub, GitHub Actions, Terraform, Ansible.
Have experience with Java programming language, including object-oriented principles and design patterns.
Have experience building and deploying microservices using Helm and Spring Boot framework
Knowledge of unit testing and integration testing frameworks for Java microservices.
Have an understanding of microservices principles, design patterns, and best practices.
Be able to create and manage Docker containers, Docker files, and Docker Compose.
Have experience with CI/CD pipelines
Possess knowledge of Kubernetes fundamentals, deployments, services, and configuration management.
Have experience of Git for code version control and collaboration on GitHub .
Be familiar with Observability tools and logging practices for distributed systems.
Good written and verbal communication
Good to have: Experience of working on any security tool, terraform, linux scripts.
