About the Role

.

We’re looking for a skilled C++ developer who is passionate about building secure, reliable software. In this role, you’ll help strengthen the security of our middleware platform (ESP), which supports LexisNexis applications. You’ll work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including development, architecture, QA, and information security to identify and remediate vulnerabilities, improve secure coding practices, and ensure robust platform security.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and experiences. If you’re excited about secure software development and meet most of the qualifications, we encourage you to apply—even if you don’t meet every requirement.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and remediate security vulnerabilities in C++ code and third-party libraries.

  • Collaborate with teams to implement secure coding practices and improve platform resilience.

  • Ensure secure communication protocols (REST, JSON, XML) and API security across cloud infrastructure (Azure Kubernetes Services).

  • Apply security testing techniques such as SAST, DAST, and API testing.

  • Continuously enhance platform security through code audits and proactive improvements.

  • Interpret results from automated scanning tools (e.g., Mend, Burp Suite) and implement appropriate fixes.

  • Document findings and support teams in understanding and resolving security issues.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in C++ development, with attention to secure coding, memory management, and thread safety.

  • Experience working with web technologies (JSON, XML, REST) and securing APIs.

  • Familiarity with open-source libraries and managing related security risks.

  • Hands-on experience with security tools like Checkmarx and Burp Suite.

  • Understanding of cloud platforms, especially Azure, and secure deployment practices.

  • Awareness of security standards such as OWASP Top 10, NIST, or FedRAMP (a plus, not required).

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in diverse teams.

  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

  • Experience with Linux development environments.

  • Clear communication skills to explain technical concepts to varied audiences.
