The Genesys Cloud Software Engineer is a highly skilled software development professional who plays a pivotal role in advancing the Genesys Cloud platform. In this position, you’ll collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and teams across the organization to drive the evolution of our technology. The team’s mission is to deliver a secure, resilient, feature-rich foundation that powers the larger Genesys Cloud contact center solution. Specifically, you will contribute to a microservice responsible for intelligently routing conversations to agents, a critical component of the customer experience.

Collaborate with product and project management to design and implement new features
Address bugs, technical debt, and continuous improvements within an evolving codebase
Review and provide feedback on teammates’ code to promote quality and consistency
Stay current on platform-wide changes and incorporate best practices as needed
Participate in an on-call rotation, helping ensure the reliability and availability of critical services (a responsibility we work hard to minimize)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
2+ years of software development experience in Java or a similar language
Self-driven, proactive, and comfortable working asynchronously in a distributed environment
Strong analytical skills and an ability to deconstruct complex problems into elegant solutions
Energized by building systems that are used at scale
Excellent problem-solving, critical-thinking, and communication skills
Committed to designing software with maintainability, testability, monitorability, and automation in mind
Proficient with distributed version control systems such as Git, and understand the distinction between Git and GitHub
Bonus: Experience with microservice architectures, cloud-based development (e.g., AWS), NoSQL databases, distributed event streaming (e.g., Kafka), and RESTful API design
