Soft Services Lead

UK – London – New Oxford Street Full time

The Central GSC Facility Management team provides governance, compliance and improvement leadership across a broad range of facility services to support GSK’s purpose: to unite Science, Technology and Talent to get ahead of disease together. We manage hard, soft and scientific services delivered through strategic partners, driving standardisation, simplification, quality improvement and sharing of best practice across GSC sites.

We are seeking a Soft Services Lead to provide central oversight and commercial management of soft services — including cleaning, catering and landscaping — delivered via third‑party providers. You will act as an informed client and SME for soft services, driving improvement, ensuring compliance, embedding contractual governance and partnering with sites and suppliers to secure consistently high performance.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify and deliver improvement opportunities across soft services through innovation, technology, standardisation and supplier management; ensure benefits are embedded and sustained.
  • Develop, roll out and embed contractual processes with service providers (eg. contract change control, SIP completion, governance and service metrics).
  • Project manage activities and supplier changes from conception to completion across multiple sites.
  • Manage and/or support mobilisation of additional sites or scope to the relevant account.
  • Ensure activities meet Health & Safety, Environmental, quality and compliance requirements; assess and manage associated risks.
  • Identify and remove internal barriers to improvement and influence stakeholders to secure alignment.
  • Work with the Global Head of GSC Facility Management and suppliers to ensure KPIs/service levels are challenging and consistently met.
  • Act as SME for soft services; ensure legal and GSK standards are met, reporting and metrics are robust and aligned to industry benchmarks.
  • Build capability across the GSC FM team, site teams and third‑party providers to drive ongoing improvements.
  • Maintain and develop commercial reporting of third‑party spend and performance; use BI/AI and benchmarking to identify synergies, standardisation and simplification opportunities.

Basic Qualifications
We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals:

  • Degree or demonstrable equivalent in engineering, operations, CI or facilities‑related discipline.
  • Proven experience in soft services (cleaning, catering, landscaping) within operational, GMP manufacturing or non‑production environments.
  • Demonstrable track record of identifying and delivering service improvements and supplier management across multiple sites.
  • Experience of business improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma or similar).
  • Strong commercial analysis, project management and stakeholder management skills; ability to influence senior leaders.
  • Able to operate enterprise‑wide, engaging multiple functions, sites and external suppliers.

Preferred Qualifications
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Degree in engineering or facilities management.
  • Experience with BI and AI tools for spend and performance analysis.
  • Experience of mobilisation or supplier transition projects.
