Social Worker –Inpatient  Oncology /Hematology/ BMT -CHONY - Days

Pediatric hematology/oncology specialists at NewYork-Presbyterian combine expertise with compassion when caring for every patient — and his or her family — who walks through our doors. There are special expertise in the treatment of children and adolescents whose disease has relapsed despite prior therapies. The goal is not only to provide effective treatment, but to return children to lives that are as normal and productive as possible, so they can grow up to be healthy adults. Families come to us from all over the world for our expertise.

We are seeking a Social Worker for our Inpatient Oncology Service that includes Hematology and BMT.  Experience a place where Social Worker are respected. Utilize your inpatient experience to provide a variety of psychosocial services, coordinate discharge planning and continuum of care for patients and families from across the world. Assist them in enhancing their capabilities of coping with illness and daily functioning. Here, you will experience all the reasons why you entered such a rewarding field.

This is Monday – Friday day shift  position with rotating weekend/holiday coverage.

​ Preferred Criteria

  • At least one year of in-patient hospital experience
  • Discharge Planning experience
  • Pediatric and Oncology experience

Required Criteria

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW)
  • New York State License as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
