A Site Reliability Engineer I (SRE) plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our company's digital infrastructure. The role works closely with software engineers, system administrators & Operations Team, and other stakeholders to build and maintain systems monitoring that is resilient to failures and capable of handling large-scale traffic. This role requires a foundation in software engineering principles, as well as developing expertise in systems administration and troubleshooting.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Configure and review system performance and availability using tools like Dynatrace, SolarWinds, Prometheus, and Grafana.

  • Troubleshoot issues related to observability configurations and implement solutions to prevent recurrence. 

  • Continuously improve operational processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and reliability

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline system configuration, deployment, and monitoring processes.

  • Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible.

  • Analyze system usage patterns and trends to forecast capacity requirements.

  • Design and implement strategies for scaling infrastructure to handle increasing loads.

  • Design and implement fault-tolerant systems capable of handling hardware and software failures gracefully.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, product managers, and support engineers, to ensure system reliability and performance.

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders for post-incident analysis/reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 2+ Years of experience with strong programming skills in one or more languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

  • Experience with monitoring and logging systems such as SolarWinds, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, etc.

  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux/Unix system administration, PowerShell, and shell scripting.

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

  • Understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, etc.).

  • Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices.

  • Good to have Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

  • Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
