Purpose of the Role
The Shipper Clerk I is responsible for accurately receiving, picking, packing, and shipping orders in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, efficiency, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. A successful candidate will work collaboratively with the shipping team while maintaining independence, accountability, and a positive attitude.
Key Responsibilities
Perform all duties and responsibilities of an Assembler II as needed.
Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment following standard procedures.
Complete all daily outbound shipments on time and with high accuracy.
Verify product quantities, descriptions, and packaging meet order and customer requirements.
Ensure all required shipping documentation is accurate and accompanies each order.
Use mobile scanners and barcoding systems to maintain data accuracy.
Identify and correctly handle all products during shipment.
Follow approved packaging standards to protect product integrity during transport.
Process orders using Oracle and FedEx shipping software.
Use approved carriers and vendors according to shipping method requirements.
Communicate shipping issues or delays promptly to the Shipping Team Lead.
Maintain clean, organized work areas and replenish shipping materials as needed.
Accurately complete required data entry and generate daily shipping reports.
Support other manufacturing areas during periods of low shipping volume.
Work overtime as needed to meet fluctuating order volumes.
Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
Strong manual dexterity, coordination, and attention to detail.
Basic math, reading, and writing skills (including converting units and performing basic algebra).
Proficient computer skills and ability to learn manufacturing and shipping software.
Problem-solving ability to identify and resolve minor issues independently.
Experience operating manual/electric pallet jacks, forklifts, man lifts, and ladders.
Experience using handheld scanners for order picking.
Strong multitasking and time management skills.
Positive communicator who works effectively with all levels of the organization.

Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
6–12 months of related warehouse, shipping, or manufacturing experience required.
Experience with carrier shipping software (e.g., FedEx, UPS) preferred.
Experience using basic shipping tools (scale, labeling, hand tools, etc.) a plus.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull 30–70 lbs.
Stand and walk for up to eight or more hours per shift.
Occasionally bend, crouch, twist, and reach.
Maintain visual acuity for reading labels, documentation, and scanning.
Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when applicable.
