Position Overview:

The Shipper/Loader is responsible for supporting all aspects of shipping and loading finished boats, molds, fixtures, and related equipment. This role also serves as a backup to the Group Leader, assisting with outbound and inbound logistics activities including carrier coordination, finished goods accruals, and alignment of in-house operations to meet shipping goals. The position requires daily execution of load optimization and trailer utilization processes.

Essential Functions:

•  Promote and model a culture of safety excellence.

•  Perform boat loading and unloading operations with precision and care.

•  Support Group Leader responsibilities including:

  • Daily order/load building and trailer capacity planning.
  • Routing and scheduling of outbound shipments.
  • System updates and data entry for logistics tracking.
  • Communication of load schedules and Bill of Lading (BOL) details.
  • Execution plan coordination with plant management and loading teams.

•  Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

•  Maintain accurate documentation and communication with carriers.

•  Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment preferred.
  • Shipping and logistics experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with hand tools and hoist operation.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially regarding schedules, invoices, and carrier communication.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based systems including MS Office, OBMS, and ShopFloor.
  • Ability to read and interpret load schedules and identify quality issues during loading.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours during peak seasons.
  • Professional and effective communication across all organizational levels.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Adaptability to changing requirements and proactive problem-solving.

Working Conditions:

  • Heavy Lifting & Manual Handling: Regularly lift, carry, and maneuver loads exceeding 50 lbs, including boat parts, motors, and equipment, often in awkward positions or overhead.
  • Mobility & Endurance: Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb throughout the shift—often on wet, uneven, or elevated surfaces—while maintaining balance and physical stamina.
  • Environmental Exposure & Equipment Use: Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and operate heavy machinery (e.g., forklifts, hoists) with precision and adherence to safety protocols.

The pay range for this position is $19.90 to $22.50, hourly.  The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
