POSITION SUMMARY
The 2nd Shift Production Supervisor is responsible to oversee and coordinate all activities of the shift, to include managing the team, daily metrics, and improvements to ensure safety, quality, cost and deliver as a part of daily operations. This position is responsible to lead, coach, manage performance and motivate teams.  This position monitors and continuously enhances employee morale. The Production Supervisor provides and allocates rewards and recognition.  The Production Supervisor coordinates the delivery of safety, health and other employee programs to employees.  

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Participate in establishing goals and standards of performance for the production area. Plan, schedule and assign the work of the department, and maintain work efficiency at the highest possible level at the lowest possible cost.
  • Lead, organize, train, and coach teams to reduce waiting time between operations, distance between operations and inventory all along chain. Responsible for continual and rapid improvement in operations to meet basic customer need.
  • Continuously monitor quality of work and production efficiency in the department and take necessary corrective action to remedy deficiencies. Motivate department leaders and production workers to achieve continuously increasing productivity.  Appraise performance of all department personnel on the prescribed time schedule and recommend appropriate personnel action.
  • Investigate and identify production problems, determine and remedy causes of failure to meet quality and quantity standards, advise and assist the appropriate manufacturing support departments with the implementation of corrective action.  Arrange for proper maintenance of equipment and facilities.
  • Participate in preparation and recommendation of the operating and capital budgets for the production area, and continuously review and control expenditures against such budget.
  • Explain and fairly enforce company policies and rules; maintain discipline, morale and harmonious employee relations; administer disciplinary action for rule violations, misconduct, absenteeism or deficient performance.
  • Implement safety programs, workplace organization and policies, and conduct safety training. Investigate all injuries and near misses within the area of supervision, and implement corrective actions.
  • Continuously seek cost reductions and recommend improvements to procedures, processes, equipment and layout.
     

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years' prior leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.  
  • Demonstrated track record of process improvement essential.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to effectively disseminate and present information to all internal and external customers.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills required.
  • Ability to drive change and innovation is required.
  • Good problem-solving skills with proven track record in achieving results through or with other team members essential.
  • Ability to interact at all levels and functions required.
  • Dedication to meeting expectations and requirements of internal and external customers a must.
  • Must be flexible - willing to be flexible with hours should the need arise.
  • Limited travel may be required between facilities.
     

Salary Range: The compensation range(s) identified below are a good faith estimate of the salary expected to be paid as performed from these locations. Actual salaries may vary based on a variety of factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, education and training; and other relevant business and organizational factors. Most candidates will start in the lower half of the range.
The salary range for this position is $72,600-$99,000.
