Your Position

As a Shift Leader within our 24/7 operating distribution center in Dandenong South, you will focus on three key priorities: Safety, Team Engagement, and delivering a Best-in-Class, customer-leading service. This role involves navigating a highly automated and dynamic environment, fostering a safe working atmosphere, engaging a diverse team of professionals, and ensuring exceptional service that puts our customers at the forefront. This role is not just about managing the present, but also about steering the team towards a successful future.

You will work on a 4 on / 4 off rotating roster with a work schedule of two 12 hour day shifts, two 12 hour night shifts and then four consecutive days off.

Your Responsibilities

  • Oversee shift operations, resolving technical issues within SLA.

  • Monitor automated systems and drive efficiency improvements.

  • Promote continuous improvement and team innovation.

  • Act as liaison between customers, leadership, and floor teams.

  • Ensure safety compliance across all activities.

  • Lead crisis response, following MIMP and coordinating with service desk.

  • Strategically manage resources and recognize team achievements. Handle team admin, HR tasks, and performance management.

  • Adapt to Business as Usual, Incident, and Deployment modes while maintaining stability.

About You

  • You bring hands-on experience or hold a trade qualification (Cert III/IV in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering).

  • Certifications in leadership, people management, or Continuous Improvement (e.g. Six Sigma) are highly regarded.

  • You have led teams in fast-paced, complex environments such as distribution centers or similar settings.

  • You're a natural leader—motivating, managing, and supporting diverse teams comes easily to you.

  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging across all levels of the business.

  • You understand automated systems and distribution center processes, or have experience in a similar environment.

  • You're skilled at identifying and resolving operational issues promptly to minimize disruption.

  • Safety is always top of mind, and you're well-versed in relevant regulations and procedures.

  • You're committed to delivering high-quality, customer-focused service.
