Role Description

This role is responsible for the effective delivery of products against customer requirements, through effective planning and management of teams whilst conforming to the Health Safety policy within the Manufacturing Environment. The role covers both production areas of Wafer Processing.

 

This role will typically expend 40% of the time managing the day to day activities of the line, and approximately 60% of the time working on the line in an operations function.

Main Accountabilities

Health & Safety:

  • Follow and apply all health and safety processes onsite.

  • Ensure the Risk Assessment and COSHH folders are maintained and kept in the appropriate locations.

  • Ensure that housekeeping standards are maintained at workstation and surrounding area.

  • Complete area inspections to the required schedule.

  • Ensure all observations, accidents and incidents are recorded on the appropriate H&S systems.

Production:

  • Optimise the operators’ work throughout the shift and ensure that all operators are aware of their priorities.

  • Complete a verbal and emailed handover of work priorities to the following shift.

  • Ensure all bottleneck processes are supplied with work.

  • Be aware of the general position of all work within the designated area and understand the priorities

  • Ensure all orders are moving to schedule and will meet the required delivery dates.

  • Organise priorities for Process and Equipment Engineers to address issues in conjunction with the relevant Team Leads. Be responsible for these decisions outside of standard hours.

  • Review batches for external processing daily and organise shipments accordingly.

  • Identify and label all batches that are due out at the end of each week.

  • Actively participate in continuous improvement activities.

Consumables Management:

  • Manage stock levels of consumables – including waste jars, cleanroom bags etc

  • Order chemicals and maintain weekly stock check

  • Ensure continuous supply of materials

  • Ensure all chemicals are stored and handled safely

  • Ensure all chemicals are within expiry date and are used in date order.

Be first point of contact for:

  • Operators questions on priority calls,

  • Operators to report Process or Equipment issues

  • Resolution of any resource conflicts between Operators (production) and Engineering

  • Escalation of any issues within the company processes

Team Management:

  • Ensure all Operators are trained on the process/tool they are operating and maintain training records. Cross train to be able to maintain all processes during absences.

  • Provide input to support generation of individual team members PDR’s

  • Recording of issues/priorities/decisions.

  • Working with Team Lead/Manufacturing Manager, manage team members with regard to timekeeping, absence, general disciplinary and capability issues up to and including informal discussions. Escalate through appropriate management chain for formal stages of the procedure if required.

  • Attend meetings as and when required.

  • Act as designated deputy for the Team Lead.
