End-to-end ownership of one or more technology projects or releases. Plan and effectively handle all aspects of the project or release including cost, schedule, scope, quality and project resources following the appropriate methodologies.
Provide technical expertise and leadership to the team in design and build activities (may be comprised of internal and/or vendor/contractor resources). Ensure activities are completed, validated, align with architectural objectives and requirements, and successfully deploy into the production environment.
Provide mentorship to team ensuring optimization of designs/solutions. Champion standard processes and procedures. Provide troubleshooting for development and test environment issues.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver an annual portfolio of moderately sophisticated technology projects through effective management of budget, schedule, scope, quality and risk. Accountable for project communications, breakthrough tracking, resource planning, financials, risk assessment and prioritization and customer concern and resolution of critical issues to project sponsor/owners.
- Provide leadership to project resources in a manner that ensures timely delivery on commitments/tasks in support of broader project results. Align and lead cross-organizational resources to ensure successful delivery of the project.
- Influence the continuous improvement of processes, policies and best practices to optimize performance and availability of technologies
- Drive and develop consistent technical build, implementation and support processes. Verify designs are validated and adhere to defined standards. Ensure ongoing improvements align with standard process/service management principles and technology Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methods.
- Build and be responsible for the overall project readiness plan and communicate impacts to appropriate partners. Lead and participate in regular post-implementation reviews and present project metrics to assist with evaluation of project quality. Provide regular status reporting for assigned releases. Log, supervise, and raise high priority project issues that may impact ability to deliver a quality project according to plan.
Required Qualifications- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
- 10+ years of total experience with 3+ years successful track record of delivering projects that meet business objectives as well as time, budget and quality guidelines.
- Solid understanding of business functional areas and management issues as well as the IT organizations systems and capabilities.
- Experience managing project plans, time lines, test plans, resources and budgets.
- Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and to efficiently handle within it.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills including with executive level presentations.
- Strong analytic and problem solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications- Successful experience driving cross-functional and cross-organizational teams to meet project objectives.
- Solid ability to work effectively with US and global employee and contract resources.
- PMP/PMI-ACI certification
