Service Attendant

Job Summary

Support warehouse and logistics operations in a manufacturing or industrial facility environment. This role involves material handling, inventory management, customer service, and safety compliance while maintaining accurate documentation and efficient workflow processes. The position requires operating material handling equipment and interfacing with both internal teams and external customers in a professional manner.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance

  • Complete Worker Safety Engagement process daily
  • Maintain and record all required safety and operational paperwork
  • Follow all safety protocols and report any incidents or concerns
  • Conduct daily Workplace Organization (WPO) and cleaning of assigned work areas

Material Handling & Equipment Operation

  • Operate flatbed burden carrier and forklift throughout the facility safely and efficiently
  • Unload packages from delivery vehicles
  • Make in-plant deliveries and coordinate material pick-up for outbound shipments
  • Handle materials in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines

Inventory & Order Management

  • Review packing slips and packages to verify material counts and accuracy
  • Process transactions in SAP system
  • Fill customer orders and verify balance on hand
  • Check Point of Use (POU) areas for empty bins and coordinate returns to crib for replenishment
  • Complete supply runs and label runs as assigned
  • Report any discrepancies to Supervisor for follow-up and correction

Customer & Team Interface

  • Interface professionally with plant customers and fellow team members
  • Provide excellent customer service while maintaining operational efficiency
  • Communicate effectively regarding material availability, delivery schedules, and any issues
  • Support collaborative work environment and team objectives

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions and material movements
  • Ensure proper documentation of inventory activities
  • Complete assigned administrative tasks in a timely and accurate manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Required Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
  • Ability to work independently and follow established procedures
  • Basic math skills for inventory counting and verification
  • Professional communication skills for customer and team interactions
  • Physical ability to lift, move, and handle materials safely
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment
  • Basic computer skills for system navigation and data entry

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, and move materials for extended periods
  • Capability to operate material handling equipment safely
  • Manual dexterity for handling packages and operating equipment controls

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with logistics computer systems (SAP preferred)
  • Forklift/high-low operator experience and certification
  • Previous warehouse or distribution center experience
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles
  • Certification in material handling equipment operation

Working Conditions

This position operates in a warehouse/manufacturing facility environment with exposure to moving equipment, varying temperatures, and industrial operations. Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment while maintaining focus on safety, accuracy, and customer service excellence.
