What is the opportunity?

A role in a team which provides in-depth class action services, comprehensive shareholder information services and a streamlined research service. Work efforts are focused against overall effectiveness and risk mitigation associated with Shareholder Services team functions to support Canadian Wealth Management, Direct Investing, Capital Markets, PH&N and Royal Trust business lines.

As a Service Associate in Shareholder Services, under Canadian Wealth Management Operations, you will be responsible for activities associated with shareholder voting, DI letters and class action preparation.  There will be involvement in other aspects of day-to-day operations and special projects as required.

What will you do?

• Assist with the preparation and submission of Disclosures related to SRDII, and Declarations to depositories, transfer agents, and issuers as required by various jurisdictional regulations and requirements

  • Participate in the processing of client votes and/or control number requests
  • Provide customer support through answering ServiceLink queries
  • As a team member, share in the daily preparation of DI letters and other activities related to that service offering
  • Participate in the accurate interpretation and publishing of class action events as they pertain to RBC clients
  • Process payments to client accounts using internal systems (manual journals and JEFE) accurately and reconcile third party claims as and when required.
  • Proactively manage communications with lending department to resolve counter party claims.
  • Participate in the effective solutioning of shareholder issues related to a variety of topics including, but not limited to, client mailings, e-delivery of materials, account coding, WRAP codes and ProxyEdge account set-up
  • Open, re-direct, or otherwise process mail received in the department

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management
  • Experience in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment
  • Experience with Wealth Management Canadian Operations workflow and processing systems including ServiceLink, Broadridge Terminal Services
  • Completion of Post-Secondary Education
  • Strong PC skills including proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Nice-to-have

  • Good understanding of functions of departments within Wealth Management Canada Operations (WMCO), as well as Wealth Management and Capital Markets lines of business
  • Good understanding and/or experience with shareholder voting, class action processing and other Shareholder-related events and processes
  • Good working knowledge of financial industry and securities
  • Completion of Canadian Securities Certification
