Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Program Certification and Airworthiness Thread Systems Engineering Manager 2. This position will be located in Roy, UT and may offer a competitive relocation package.

What you’ll get to do:
The selected candidate will join the DevStar Directorate.
The selected candidate will lead Program Certification and Airworthiness efforts.
These roles will require close coordination and collaboration with the other Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), USAF and USN Program Offices, executive leadership, Office of Chief Engineers (OCE), and IWO partners.
You will guide and oversee the evolution of the Sentinel Program Certification process and plans.
You will manage the development and execution of the MMIII and Sentinel Secondary Launch Capability (SLC) and Launch Platform-Airborne (SLP-A) Airworthiness efforts.
You will support the SLP-A Program Management Team by ensuring Systems Engineering activities/needs/concerns are coordinated and addressed.
The candidate will have 80% technical responsibilities and 20% Functional Manager responsibilities. This role may include Control Account Management and Risk Management duties.
You will also:
- Enable mission focused technical changes and updates as iteration occurs (be able to adjust technical and programmatically as discovery occurs and communicate out updated plan).
- Establish key initiatives in support of the organization’s strategic and tactical plans.
- Support the directorate in executive internal and external customer meetings.
- Be responsible for assessing staffing needs, current as well as projected and working with the respective team leads to address those needs.
- Be responsible for supporting recruitment activities including the creation of requisitions, conducting interviews, and approving offers.
- Work with program leaders in establishing personal, program, and functional goals as well as performing performance evaluations and merit adjustments for subordinates.
- Provide their subordinates with career development recommendations, mentoring, discipline, as necessary.

- Partner with engineering and program management peers to assure a balanced and efficient assignment of resources to support and achieve key mission priorities.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 8 years of related experience
- Experience managing people preferred
- Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need- ICBM experience
- 1+ years of Program and/or Project management experience, managing multidisciplinary teams through complex engineering problems
- 1+ years of experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) and/or Work Package Lead (WPL).
- 1+ years of experience leading Multi-Disciplinary Engineering (Software, Hardware, Electrical) and working in Cross-Functional Team including DOD Customers (USAF/USN)
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- Master's Degree in STEM
- Experience leading teams in a functional, programmatic, and/or technical capacity
- Experience conducting reviews of supplier documentation (e.g., technical evaluations of proposals, acceptance test procedures, cost and schedule reports, software version description documents).
- Experience working with aerospace electronic systems, Comms systems, and/or payloads.
- Experience defining systems behavior, airframe certification requirements
- Experience in Integrated Functional Capability Process.
- Experience working with DoD government/military personnel
- Experience in People and Technical Leadership roles
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices
- NG CAM/EV Certification
- Experience with Risk and Opportunity Management
- Prior experience and working knowledge of the Sentinel and/or MMIII programs.
- Active DOD Top Secret Security Clearance.
- Special Program Access.
- Demonstrated ability to manage concurrent efforts.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Presentation skills to communicate effectively at all levels of management and to individual contributors.
