About the role

Join our dynamic Operations Division, where change is embraced and opportunity is abundant. As a 3rd Party Operational Risk and Resilience Manager you will be part of our Risk & Resilience function, playing a pivotal role in enhancing third-party risk management across a rapidly evolving organisation. What you’ll be doing

  • Collaborate with Heads of Functions to ensure appropriate categorization and tiering across all suppliers and third-party relationships.
  • Develop comprehensive risk and resilience third-party reporting for use in Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Risk and Resilience committees and working groups , including progress on risk appetite metrics.
  • Conduct thorough gap analyses on all third-party regulatory policies and consultation papers, consolidating a clear action plan with defined accountabilities aligned with Operational Risk & Resilience requirements.
  • Provide guidance, oversight, and challenge Operations Leadership (SLT and extended leadership team) and contract managers across all aspects of Third-Party risk management.
  • Offer focused oversight and challenge on the management of Third Parties providing and/or operating services and solutions for HL.
  • Ensure the Operations Division has robust Third-Party Risk procedures suitable for its current size, scale, and planned growth.
  • Design, lead, and manage an Operations Risk Assurance model aligned with Compliance Monitoring and Internal Audit, appropriate for the division’s current size, scale, and planned growth.
  • Oversee and manage First Line of Defence (1LoD) oversight and challenge for the Division's third-party risk and resilience management.
  • Prepare papers for Executive and Board Committees, covering the third-party risk and resilience agenda.
  • Be accountable for the delivery of third-party regulatory requirements arising from PS21/3, CP24/28, and CTP, and transition these into Business as Usual (BAU) operations, focusing on establishing and embedding appropriate and effective governance and controls in the 1LoD.
  • Attend governance committees as required or deputize for the Head of Operational Resilience & Business Continuity. 1LoD oversight and challenge for the Divisions operation of third-party risk and resilience management

About you

  • Proven experience in third-party risk, and leadership within a large/complex organization.
  • Strong focus on change and third-party management principles that support and deliver against strategic business objectives, balancing risk management and client outcomes.
  • Proven experience in leading Second Line of Defence (2L) Assurance activities.
  • Good knowledge of the FCA Handbook.
  • Proven ability to influence and direct senior and executive staff.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong and effective relationships with staff at all levels.
  • Substantial experience in risk or compliance roles within a relevant financial services sector

Interview process

This will be a two-stage interview process consisting of competency-based questions and a presentation.

Working Schedule

The role is based in our Bristol head office, BS1 5HL. This role is a 12 month FTC, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. For this role we offer a hybrid flexible working pattern, with a requirement for you to be in the office 3 days a week.
