About the Role

CNN Digital is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead the delivery and integration of complex systems that power CNN’s digital streaming product. This role focuses on working across client and system teams as well as third-party partners to ensure seamless coordination and process in support of the definition of system architecture integration, and execution within a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate is a self-directed, technically fluent program leader who thrives in ambiguity, excels at driving clarity across diverse cross-functional teams, and can translate complex requirements into actionable plans. Prior experience in the streaming or wholesale distribution space is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead comprehensive technical program delivery across multiple initiatives that support CNN’s streaming platforms.
  • Create program roadmaps that effectively balance long-term strategic objectives with the realities of execution.
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, engineering teams, and third-party organizations to ensure technical alignment and successful integration.

Technical Execution & Integration

  • Lead technical discussions with engineering teams on architecture, solution design, and testing.
  • Work with third-party companies to assess system requirements and capabilities, driving successful integration into CNN’s technology ecosystem.
  • Communicate system architecture and integration points clearly to internal client teams.
  • Identify and manage technical dependencies, taking proactive steps to mitigate risks that could impact project delivery.

Cross-Team Coordination

  • Facilitate collaboration across internal teams and external vendors to ensure milestones and deliverables are achieved within established timelines.
  • Promote clear and consistent communication among all project stakeholders to support coordinated execution.
  • Ensure ongoing alignment between technical and business priorities by conducting regular sync meetings and maintaining thorough documentation.

Planning & Execution

  • Define scope, milestones, metrics, and resource needs for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Track execution progress, remove roadblocks, and drive accountability across distributed teams.
  • Maintain flexibility and decisiveness when managing shifting priorities or ambiguous requirements.

Leadership Communications

  • Organize and deliver regular leadership communications, such as executive briefings and steering committee updates, to support informed, data-driven decision-making.
  • Provide transparent updates regarding risks, dependencies, and critical project paths.

Governance & Continuous Improvement

  • Implement effective governance models to enable fast, well-informed decisions.
  • Lead retrospectives and incorporate learnings into future program planning and delivery models.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in technology or digital media
  • At least three years in technical program management or an equivalent leadership position
  • Proven track record delivering cross-functional, technical programs in complex organizational environments
  • Experience with streaming or wholesale platform integrations is a plus

Technical Expertise

  • Strong understanding of system architecture, integrations, and modern software development frameworks
  • Proven ability to facilitate technical discussions and translate architecture requirements into actionable plans
  • Experience collaborating closely with engineering teams and third-party vendors on system design and implementation

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Self-organizing and proactive, able to excel in ambiguous and high-pressure environments.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills; skilled at bridging technical and non-technical conversations with clarity and impact.
  • Proven ability to lead through influence and align cross-functional teams toward common goals.

Program Management Skills

  • Strong command of Agile and iterative delivery methodologies.
  • Skilled at managing competing priorities and dependencies across multiple workstreams.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and similar project tracking systems.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $109,200.00 - $202,800.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
