Summary
This is a hands-on technical software engineering position on the Integration Specialists (IS) team. The successful candidate will support integration and configuration of computational system architecture and system software for real-time simulation applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTOR - Identifies process and product improvements and makes the necessary changes once agreed with the immediate superior. Develop units through algorithms/techniques, while documenting own work, including test reports and functional specifications for small or medium complexity systems. Participates in code reviews, identifies risks, and escalates issues when necessary. Provides timely and useful information to the project leader to assist with detailed project planning and coordination using project management methods and tools. Acts as a resource for technical staff.
Developing professional level - Incumbent in this role is developing professional expertise and demonstrates conceptual knowledge and principles of own professional discipline. Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction. Position requires professional degree in a single discipline with typically 3 years of related experience.
Define new simulation models and interfaces
Design, integrate, and test flight simulator architectures, networks, software interfaces, and software infrastructures
Show strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
Support existing and create new software build environments.
CMake, self-hosted Git/BitBucket knowledge useful.
Install and configure operating systems for flight simulators.
Troubleshoot issues with flight simulator equipment and interfaces
Manage Linux and Windows platforms and applications.
Develop solutions to increase automation.
Communicate with an understanding and consideration of varied perspectives and technical knowledge specialties.
Show the ability to carry tasks through to completion with only general technical direction
Travel as needed to maintain existing solutions at customer sites. (up to 50% Travel)
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline
5-10 years of direct software development experience post degree, C++ preferred (4-7 years with Masters Degree)

Preferred Skills
Knowledge of, or willing to learn virtualization solutions (VMware)
Knowledge of, or willing to learn containerized development/delivery (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes)
Software Development and Debugging in C++
Previous simulation system experience
Prefer 7+ years of experience using Linux development environment
Good communications skills
Configure operating system on Linux and Windows machines
Travel as needed to maintain existing solutions at customer sites.
Management of a software baseline, including branching, merging, building, maintaining, and installing software
High-level knowledge concerning compiling and linker infrastructure:
Microsoft Visual Studio C++
GNU Compiler Collection
Cmake
Strong knowledge in algorithm performance and design. Able to apply knowledge
HLA/DIS/DDS experience
Security Responsibilities
Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
Work Environment
Duties performed in an office environment and manufacturing facility.
Must be able to work overtime on and off-shifts as required.
The employee is on call 24x7 for the resolution of problems and issues.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This role requires the ability to maneuver body in/out of cockpits that contain sensitive equipment.
