Senior Technical Delivery Manager

Role Overview
The Senior Technical Delivery Manager (TDM) ensures that engineers and micro-teams (often 1–2 members) established in India are integrated effectively into our operating companies under the Banyan Software umbrella. This role balances technical oversight with delivery enablement, helping operating companies achieve value quickly while maintaining consistency, quality, and best practices across dozens of engagements. The TDM partners with HQ engineering managers and stakeholders, and India-based tech leads (when available) to ensure distributed teams, whether a single engineer or a growing pod, operate as seamless extensions of their operating company’s workforce.

 

Key Responsibilities

Delivery Oversight Across Many Small Teams

  • Provide delivery visibility across a portfolio of Banyan operating companies, each with small distributed teams (1–5 engineers).
  • Tracks & provides engineers are fully integrated into HQ rituals, systems, and performance expectations.
  • Provide early guidance to align scope, timelines, and expectations between operating companies and India teams.

Technical Coaching & Quality

  • Act as a trusted advisor to operating companies on role scoping, technical environment setup, candidate assessment/interview and onboarding readiness.
  • Support recruitment decisions for niche or senior roles, validating alignment with operating company’s needs.

Scalable Playbooks & Standards

  • Develop repeatable onboarding and delivery playbooks that scale across dozens of operating companies.
  • Standardize practices for technical delivery communication, documentation, and collaboration between India and HQ teams.
  • Continuously refine frameworks based on feedback and lessons learned.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as a delivery partner for operating companies CTOs, Product Leaders, and Engineering Managers.
  • Provide regular updates and recommendations to leadership on adoption, delivery outcomes, and risks based on defined KPIs and insights.
  • Partner with Engagement Managers to align client engagement plans with HR, TA, IT and facilities setup.

Local Team Development & Leadership

  • Mentor India-based engineers and local leads, helping them succeed in distributed environments.
  • Partner with HQ and India HR to ensure retention, career growth, and performance alignment across operating companies.
  • Build a culture of accountability and collaboration within India’s distributed workforce.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of software engineering/delivery experience; with at least 5+ in leadership roles
  • Proven ability to manage distributed teams at scale, including micro-teams or single engineers.
  • Strong technical foundation (engineering, DevOps, or architecture background preferred).
  • Experience creating playbooks, processes, or frameworks for global delivery.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills across geographies.
  • Ability to juggle multiple operating company engagements in parallel with structured prioritization.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
