As a System Architect within the Global IT Architecture team, you play a central role in defining and delivering Solution Architectures for the Client Lifecycle Management (CLM) programme - a strategic initiative to harmonise the bank’s end-to-end client lifecycle processes.Design and own Solution Architectures for applications in delivery, ensuring adherence to domain-level targets and architectural principles
Ensure architectural alignment across the software lifecycle, from concept through testing, release, and operational phases
Identify, document, and manage architecture debt arising from deviations between transitional implementations and long-term goals
Initiate and formalise key decisions through Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), securing approval from relevant architecture boards
Advise and mentor software engineers and Tech Leads on technical implementation, ensuring feasibility, scalability, and compliance
Collaborate with Product Owners to refine business initiatives, translating requirements into actionable capabilities and building blocks
Actively contribute to the global Domain Architecture Board: present blueprints, review peer designs, and help shape the overall target architecture
Enforce architecture governance across development teams and uphold quality standards throughout delivery
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent discipline
3+ years as a Senior Architect and 5+ years in lead/senior software engineering roles
Full-lifecycle ownership of solution architectures - from design and implementation to operations
Demonstrated ability to evaluate architectural alternatives and make sound trade-offs under constraints
Skilled in analysing complex business needs and transforming them into robust, scalable technical solutions
Strong command of modern architecture styles: microservices, event-driven systems, modular monoliths
Familiarity with integration patterns, Kafka, data streaming, Kubernetes, and hybrid cloud/on-premise environments
Proficient in UML and ArchiMate modelling, with hands-on experience using EA tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect
Good understanding of BPMN 2.0 and business process modelling
Deep knowledge of DevOps practices and software engineering excellence
Certification advantage (e.g., SAFe); proven experience applying architecture within agile/SAFe delivery frameworks
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder coordination skills
Prior exposure to highly regulated sectors, ideally banking or financial services
Fluent in English, with good knowledge in German
