Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team located in Multiple Locations.

Applicants must reside and be able to efficiently commute to suppliers within approximately 50 miles from one of the following US cities: El Segundo, CA / / Denver, CO / Mesa, AZ / Wichita, KS / Oklahoma City, OK / Minneapolis, MN / Chicago, IL / Detroit, MI / Heath, OH / St. Louis, MO / Kansas City, MO / New York, NY / Philadelphia, PA / Huntsville, AL / Titusville, FL / New Orleans, LA / Hartford, CT / Baltimore, MD / Nashua, NH / Atlanta, GA.

The selected candidate will be required to travel to/from different suppliers and job sites as needed. Travel within the state of residence and adjacent states will be required on a frequent basis.  The candidate will be requested by management to travel and stay overnight to support business needs (estimating approximately 10 working days per month may require overnight stay).

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in one of the following relevant fields of study:

  • Engineering
  • Computer Science
  • Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology)
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Chemistry

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
  • Provides interpretation of complex requirements.
  • Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for large programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Develops Quality criteria to support supplier selection activities.
  • Leads various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
  • Develops and selects methods for analysis, testing and audit to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
  • Assists in development of new standards repairs for non-conformances. Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Develops and implements corrective actions.
  • Performs benchmarking and other forms of advanced analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
  • Lead cross-functional Requirements Reviews and Capability Assessments at BDS suppliers
  • Assist with the evaluation of new technology and manufacturing process deployment readiness at suppliers. Perform special capability approvals to ensure technical readiness, capability and supplier process controls are established
  • Apply advanced Supplier Quality prevention tools including Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Lean and Six Sigma
  • Works under minimal direction.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 3+ years of experience in the defense or aerospace industry
  • Experience presenting technical briefings to various audiences
  • 3+ years of experience leading or managing projects and/or teams

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience working with AS9100 and/or similar QMS standard
  • Certified Quality Manager or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Certifications
  • 3+ years of experience working closely with other engineering disciplines in an integrated team environment
  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing quality assurance or supplier quality related roles

Travel:

This position may require up to 25% travel, including overnight and international travel.

Summary pay range: USD $108,800 - $170,200
